Optics WTS ATACR 4-16x42 MOA-XT

$2000 shipped in the box as pictured - **Mount not included** Please PM

Trades considered - 5.5x50mm ACOG, 2.5-12x42 Accupoint Green MOA dot specifically, Gen 3 1-10 Razor

Per sales descriptions on line -

The ATACR Riflescopes are designed to maximize the the potential accuracy of semiautomatic and bolt action rifles while also offering the revered bomb-proof durability Nightforce optics are known for. They feature a one-piece tube precision machined from a solid bar stock of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. The tube is two to three times thicker than riflescopes of a lesser quality, resulting in less overall stress, greater thermal stability, a consistent zero and a virtually impervious shield for the precision optics within. The lenses are matched and aligned by hand in a process called optical indexing to ensure the highest possible optical performance. The objective lens utilizes a multi-element design like those found in the highest quality telescopes to focus light rays more precisely for exceptional image clarity and color accuracy. Optical performance is further enhanced thanks to multi-coated ED glass that results in superb light transmission, brilliant images, and exceptional color contrast. The elevation turret on ATACR Riflescopes are equipped with Nightforce’s ZeroStop Technology to provide an instant return to zero after making adjustments in the field. After sighting in your rifle, simply set the ZeroStop to create a positive mechanical stopping point at your chosen zero point. Then, no matter how many elevation adjustments you make, turning the elevation knob down to the ZeroStop setting returns you to your original zero, completely by feel—even in total darkness or while wearing gloves. The internal mechanisms on the windage and elevation turrets are held in place by a specially designed spring that spends two weeks in a polishing tumbler before being installed in the optic to deliver perfectly smooth operation. This guarantees zero loss of integrity, zero loss of repeatability.

Nightforce is already known for ruggedness and reliability in their riflescope lines, and the ATACR is no exception; building from his foundation, the scope has many features, including:

  • Parallax adjustment - 45 yards - infinity
  • Integrated Throw Lever
  • Xtreme Speed Thread
  • Hi-Speed ZeroStop
  • DigIllum reticle illumination

Hello to the lovely person who is reading this post right now, hope you are having a wonderful day!
Just want to (finally) introduce myself to this forum. I have been lurking around SH for a very long time but been too busy with my work so I only get to purchase firearms locally, but now I'm retired and looking to do more trades and learn a lot about hunting cus I'll be going hunting frequently with my Third son because he shows a lot of interest in hunting.
Less I forget, I'm from Hubbard Iowa
Thank you all

kestrel elite 5700 ab problems, what am i doing wrong

i have a kestrel 5700 elite ab, sn#2160498. i have down loaded the latest firmware. i have had it for years, i used to be really into the precision rifle stuff. i bought the weather vane for it, etc. but it has always given me problems. but i think i am onto something finally. i've been getting ready for an elk hunt so i've been playing with 5 guns, Defensive edge 338 ai terminater, a kirby allen 338 ai raptor, 2 different GAP built 6.5 saums, and a Coffin custom 7mm rem mag. all very nice guns. as i was getting re-aquainted with them and trying different ammo, i noticed a pattern that using the kestrel
they were all shooting low, .1-.2 mils in the 400-500 yd range, and also shooting low out to 900 yds. finally yesterday, a local dedicated shooter let me borrow his similiar kestrel at the range. i downloaded 3 of my profiles, 6.5 saum, 338 raptor, and 7mm onto his kestrel. i then compared them side by side with the exact same profile. ignoring the wind calls, ( i didn't make the wind the same, only the target distance and direction (395 yds, and 175 deg) as you can see from the pics, his kestrel always had about a .1 mil higher solution,, i also compared all the weather numbers. our weather numbers were kinda close but no where near exactly the same, there has to be some input that is acting on all my profiles to make them shoot low. the weather numbers didn't match but they were close,,, i don't know how important all the weather numbers need to be. pics to follow. mine is the tan one
it has always done this and i usually do a profile calibration with the mv, but i have a nice labradar so i know my ave mv. and it is decent ammo so pretty low es and sd

any thoughts? i am cross posting this

S&B Klassik Elevation Detent

Was hoping for help in determining what the detent looks like on the elevation turret on an S&B Klassik 3-12x42. Just bought it new loosened the two top screws, misreading the manual for another model. Heard the detent hit the bench, but haven’t been able to find it. I must be the first one to do this or maybe the first one to admit it.

Honestly, I don’t know what I am even looking for. The one pic I found in this forum, it just looked like a small ball bearing but I can’t see how that would be captured by the turret.

Pic shows the hole, thankfully the spring is still there.

Any help or pics are appreciated.

MDT ACC Elite vs Vision Pro chassis

I haven't found any threads comparing these 2 yet. Wonder if there just aren't many people who have had time behind the vision pro.

I'm in the market for a new chassis to replace my PRS-TCS. The distance from grip to trigger is just too big for my hands. I'd like to go with chassis over stock for added adjustability also. This will be used for PRS.

At first glance they look very similar. The buttstocks are different and I do like the adjustable bag rider on the vision. Price wise is very similar here in Canada. Vision is 10% more. Not sure its enough to make a difference, but MDT also has a wicked black friday sale that I could have some luck in this year making it a little cheaper. I like how the Vision is ambi, seeing as I'm a lefty, and if I decide to sell it for whatever reason I have a bigger market to sell to. I'll most likely be adding accessories to it as well, like a control bridge or weights.

Wondering what people think about the differences between the 2 and if one was a clear winner (for those who have handled both).
