Rifle Scopes Primary Arms GLx 4.5x-27, or PST Gen II 5-25x, or Athlon Cronus BTR Gen2 4.5x-29

I recently bought a Vudoo 22lr, and I'm in the market for a scope for it. All my scopes are MRAD and FFP, and I have no intent of getting anything different. Most shooting will be between 50 and 100 yards, but occassionally shoot further (possibly out to 350 yards).

My normal go to scope is the Vortex PST Gen II 5-25. I would buy one of those, but it looks like the price has gone up some since I last purchased one, and honestly, I'd like something with a little better glass.

I'm also considering an Athlon Cronus BTR Gen2 4.5x-29 scope. I don't have any experience with Athlon optics, but have read that the glass is good on this model.

The last optic I'm considering is the Primary Arms GLx 4.5x-27, for $900, but I'm concerned the about the glass on this optic, and have no experience with Primary Arms optics, except for 1 of their red dot pistol sights.

Does anyone have experience with these 3 optics? Is there another optic I should be considering? Absolute max I'd spend is $1300 (I know if I went for the Athlon I'd be waiting for a sale or looking for a used one).

30-06 Rem 721

I have my grandpa’s Remington 721 and am struggling to find a bullet that it likes. I’ve just started on this journey into 30-06. Looking for some guidance to find an accurate bullet for it. Maybe someone has been down this road with a 721 before. I’ve tried 150 FMJ’s and 178 ELD-X’s. The 150’s were almost all 3-4” groups with 1 load in the upper velocities coming in just under 2”. The 178’s were a scatter gun at 8” or more. Maybe this barrel is shot out too. Just not sure what to expect from it, but I’m a little disappointed so far. I was hoping to work up a light recoiling load for deer, but at this point I just need something it will shoot well.

The saga continues! More 12.5 data ***updated 8/24***

Fairly cool yesterday, around 74°. On yesterday's to-do list:

Black arc 77 Nas3
Badlands 77 shell shock
Badlands 75 shell shock
Aac 77 otm

Garmin xero chrono

The bad news-i forgot to charge my garmin and it didn't make it through all the ammo. If was also very windy so I didn't get an accuracy test in.

Good velocities but a rather large ES from these for me.
Screenshot_20240819-080814_ShotView.jpg

A little on the slow side but really good stats
Screenshot_20240819-080925_ShotView.jpg

*sigh* the 77gr load performs poorly for me from them
Screenshot_20240819-081007_ShotView.jpg

Dead chrono. I didn't get to test the 75's but from my previous outings with them, they had to be moving around 2650. I zeroed it and pushed them out to 400 to verify. Streloks holds where dead on using my previous data for them.

I have a new batch of Badlands coming this week that I'm going to test-they changed some powder and switched the 77's back to the smk from the hornady.

****updated**** 8/24
Sunny 85⁰

New batches of badlands 75's and 77's
Aac shell shock 77's

Whatever badlands did, it helped.

Badlands 75's 70 rounds total. Still a rather high es but those velocities are awesome
High 2799
Low 2704
Avg 2753
Es 95
Sd 24

Badlands 77's 20 rounds total. Fairly tame velocity wise but the SD and ES are drastically improved over last time. This lot used the smk and not the hornady
High 2658
Low 2602
Avg 2626
Es 56
Sd 17

Aac 77 shell shocks. 20 rounds total. Yet another aac round that actually performed super consistently, albeit a little slow.
High 2627
Low 2549
Avg 2584
Es 77
Sd 18!

SOLD Swarovski/Kahles Certificate 40% off MAP

Like the title states, 40% off MAP pricing anything from Swaro or Kahles. Expires December 31 2024. Though they are good about offering extensions if asked.

This is a little different than the usual 55% off MSRP ones you normally see but pricing ends up close to the same because MAP is significantly lower than MSRP.

For example MAP on the 12x NL Pure is $3,049 but MSRP is $3,943

Yes, you can use it for a spotter/eyepiece combo. Or a new k328i DLR.

I will send you a picture of the physical cert which you can use to redeem direct with swaro.

$995

I take Venmo, Apple Pay, or Zelle.
F&F payments only
