I was told that in accuracy generally the barrel is 90% and the action 10%. Thats addressing only those two, not triggers or other factors and assuming comparable and decent equipment.

If someone wants a whole rifle they get priority, I’d ship it free. If people want disassembled parts then I can do that, just give me a week to get back to the vice at the ranch to take it apart. If they want an action, barrel, stock for a complete rifle I would throw the trigger in for free.

Years ago when I was first working as a marine mechanic, I worked for a shop where the owners were close friends with a commercial diving business on the West Coast. The diving company was located in Sausalito, CA, which is just across the water from San Francisco.

The dive business was on a job in San Fran, cleaning the hull of a large boat or small ship. Two guys were underwater, and the owner of the company was topside keeping an eye things. An aggressive female from the USCG came aboard and told the crew to put the engines in forward. However there were signs posted all over the helm to not put the engines in gear, as there were divers working underwater. The engines may have been running to keep them warmed up.

Remember when you were young, and a supervisor or authority figure could tell you to do something that did not sound right. However, being inexperienced, you complied?

Well the bitch told a crew member to put the controls in gear, he strongly protested, but eventually did what the authority figure told him to do. The owner of the dive business felt the boat move, and he sprinted back to the helm and yanked the levers to neutral. Next he ran to the stern, and the water was full of blood. Both divers were sucked into the propellers, and cut to pieces. The divers were both friends and coworkers of his.

The USCG quickly sent attorneys to the spouses of the divers, apologized profusely I expect, and told them if the sign this agreement to keep their mouth shut, they would be given xx amount of money. The .gov was quick, to keep the story out of the press. Now I do not know if the USCG officer was a dyke or not, but judging by her actions she was a full on man hater. She knew that the divers would be killed, but this was her chance to get away with murder.

This would of been before 1990 when I worked for the yacht repair business. In current times they would most likely not be able to sweep the deaths under the rug. But back then, they did.

I’ve been waiting since last shot show for the Z Bolt ACAL to come out and it doesn’t seem like that’s actually gonna happen anytime soon. Then I figured I’d try the holosun IRIS, but that’s a flop so far as well.

Anyone use any of the knockoff IR units? Specifically been looking at the laser speed M6TR.

Everything I’ve seen on it has been pretty positive, and most people saying it flat out beats their FP peq15’s.

Trying to get feedback here cause most of the feedback I’ve found from searching is on Reddit / ar15.

If you have any other lasers to check out as well, let me know!

I have been using the black, gold and blue packaging, the orange, black and read is showing in stock several places. Has/is the packaging just changing or is the ammo changing as well?

Both listed at 1150fps and both use the same P9HST1 item number, other than packaging I see no difference.

Assume that there is a bit of scuffing on the turrets, I’ve tried to show it. I’ve also pointed out lil nicks that aren’t on the turrets where is commonly expected.

Manners T2A SA w/ EFR, mini chassis, and Arca rail in Elite Swamp camo. $1250 shipped.

The Arca rail is made out of G10 and is cut w/ Arca lock pattern. It’s super quiet when used on a tripod or a bipod. Bedded the recoil lug for a Terminus Zeus. Would take 5 minutes to chip out/dremel out but the recoil lug on a Zeus is .300” so pretty much any other 700 clone will fit. Also relieved a small area off the mini chassis near the safety so that the safety on a trigger tech would work.

I have never had a canted scope base. Getting a Seekins Havak PH2 that comes with a 20 MOA base on it mounted with 5, #8 screws. My question is if I dial 20 MOA (approx) down when sighting in at 100 yards, my scope will start there, not optically centered. My scope is a Nightforce 4-32 x 50 SFP. It has 90 MOA vertical travel range. Which means I will be using 20 of 45 (half of 90) MOA to get it sighted in. I should have 65 MOA of up travel left for elevation adjustments. I don’t really need a 20 MOA base as my shots won’t exceed 600 yards, more likely 400 yards. I don’t have the scope yet but have ordered it. I have always assumed if a scope was able to be adjusted within a range, the optical clarity should be the same within that range. I have read a scope performs best when optically centered. I’m not sure if that is true. For you guys that routinely dial for long shots, do you notice any degraded optical clarity when looking through your scope compared to it being optically centered? Will my scope still be as clear when viewing through it with 20 MOA dialed in all the time as a starting point? If it’s a problem I can try to get a 0 MOA base. Given it has 5 screws it would probably need to come from Seekins. Most of the REM 700 bases I see have 4 screws. I’m not sure they make them but probably do.

Posting my lightly used Burris XTR Pro 5.5-30x56 scope. It’s been to the range just a few times and looks and functions like new. Has the tremor 5 mil reticle and throw lever.
