Context:

• Rifle I setup for bench rest. Used a crappy squeeze bag that I filled with sand in a ziplock, pushed out the air and cut slits in the squeeze bag and ran it on a rail changer. Worked great for what it was being stationary:

• I got a little bored shooting paper and moved on to NRL/PRS. With "bench sand bag" removed, I need about 4.5+ pounds to find balance a few inches in front of the magwell. Rifle with bipod without sandbag is 11.6 pounds. Photo below is not the balance point. Just threw it on for illustrative purposes:

Need some advice to modify this Manner's stock to fit me right. I'm saving up for a chassis on a centerfire, so not ready to do that to this rifle or switch out the barrel. I realize both of these would give me better options but it's currently a shooter in this state. I've already added an oversized steel compensator for weight, but it's not enough. I've got a 14" Area ARCA coming to move the bipod forward more to help counterbalance with barricade stop. I feel like my only options are:

• Purchase some brass stock and attach to an ARCA clamp, but I think it'd be too significant in size to make the weight and will jack with a game changer. Tungsten isn't realistic given cost.
• This is probably blasphemy, but I could take either a large forstner bit or hole saw and cut into the butt stock to hog out some weight... nobody panic, I build furniture so I can clean this up and make this look nice, but maybe not "right" . I'm thinking it shouldn't have material impact given .22
• Cut past the butt plate, meaning, remove a few inches off the back end to remove material and add a lightweight adjustable one. This would probably look a lot cleaner. You'll notice the scope/rings really far back to fit my eye relief. Maybe cutting to adjust LOP would be best, as then I can also shift the weight of the boat anchor scope forward

2. To square up right, I need a higher cheek riser. This Victor Titan is maxed out on spacers. Rings are medium and I don't think low will do it and the shade may get into the barrel. Is there an adjustable option I can drill/add in inserts that will accept a riser? I don't want to use an Amazon kydex version that drills through the sides, I'd like to add to the top.

What's the play with these guardrails? I'm not really sure of the demand for a 457 Manners stock. I get why everyone runs chassis' for this reason, but I do love the palm swell on a Manners

I’m new to long range and interested in getting a new barrel for my Ruger American predator chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. I know it’s only a Ruger American but it’s what I can afford. Does anyone have a barrel manufacturer that they recommend or have had good results with? Upon research there seems to be so many Hart, Bartlein, x caliber, preferred, and quite a few more. Hoping I’ve come to the right place for some help and insight.

I was gifted this I think “first Gen?” Ruger Precision Rifle, (Cal .308) I am trying trying to zero this scope. After 10-20 shots , the rifle wanders . Some of the shot seems same direction but progressively worse, say 5 o’clock position but in 1 “ increments. The barrel is hot to the touch, was there a known defect or is there a common problem with the barrel possibly overheating loosening accuracy? I went everywhere online searching for the answer.

I currently have a Bushnell MPED on a rifle that I use for PRS and NRL Hunter matches (6.5CM bolt gun). I know that the new Viper HD line is technically geared towards hunting, but the 5-25x50 seems to have all the features of the PST-II's (FFP and Xmas tree reticle). Seems like the only difference is the capped windage knob, which is a non-issue for my personal use.

Any thoughts on whether the Viper HD would be a step-up from the MPED? Or about the same? I have no issue with the MPED, but curious if I can get a decent amount of upgrade for a good price when the Viper HD goes on the super-duper mil-discounted sale.

I’m looking at a howa mini action chambered in 6mm arc to build a budget PRS setup for my wife. The problem I’m having is the lack of stock/chassis options for the mini action. That’s being said, has anyone put a mini action into a short action chassis?

I am looking at two different scopes, both by the same maker and they are comparable magnification but one is 56mm with a 34mm tube, while the other is lighter and has a 50mm objective lens and a 30mm tube, but less adjustment range.
The first is the Arken EP-5 5x25x56 and the other is the EPL-4 6x24x50.

Which is the better scope? And why?

If you have how did you correct it if at all?
Mine reads approximately .1-.5 grains off from my other electronic and beam scales-
Was having trouble nailing down 44.0 grain measurement and the weight was fluctuating-made me think my Uniflow was causing the problem-

This is my backup chassis and is very lightly used. It has almost every upgrade from MPA/Grey Ops and is ready to compete right out of the box. All original parts will also come with this allowing you to play around and set it up exactly how you want. Right now I have it set up with full internal weights, full external weights, Lightweight Matrix Pro 2 Cheek and Bag Rider, and the rest of the adjustable guts pulled out of the stock to keep weight down so it will balance with zero play. I am learning, I was told @50 yards, 1/4 inch group is excellent and 1/2” group is good - very good,
I do not have the ability to set up my backyard at 100 yards.
I have a 4 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch AR500 gongs at 150yards, I cannot put paper targets up……
What is consider Excellent or Very good - good at 150 yards? 4 inch, 6 inch 8 inch? Repeatable?

From pictures I see through the scope using one of these dryfire adapters, the targets still look somewhat blurry. Is that the case or is it just the camera making it look blurry?

Also, is there a lens in the adapter or is just a smaller diameter hole?
