New 4 oz. AIR BRACE Cantilever Mount, American Rifle Company Black Friday Sale

Earth Folk,

Over the years, many people have asked me to design a cantilever scope mount optimized for AR-15 platforms. We'll I finally got around to it and here it is. We're calling it the AIR BRACE because the emphasis is on ultra-light weight while trying to keep the cantilever as stiff and strong as possible. The 30mm diameter x 38mm high mount weighs in at 4 ounces making it among the lightest in the industry, especially if one actually cares about the stiffness of the cantilever section. The mount also includes a level vial at the aft end that is back-lit through a hole that runs through the entire length of it, however, it is likely useful only for the young or those older folks lucky enough to see clearly up close. I used to be young.

Note that the images below are renderings. I'll post a picture of the real thing on a rifle soon. Torque values are 35 and 55 lb-in for the scope and rail respectively. I decided to go with one M4x0.7 screw for each scope clamp because it can handle torque in excess of 40 lb-in. Bear in mind that most mounts have at least two screws per side per ring to which 15-20 lb-in of torque is typically applied. Since we're doing the same job with one screw, twice as much torque must be applied, about 35 lb-in, to result in similar clamping force.

Should a two-screw version of the scope ring ever be required, we can easily and quickly introduced retrofit-able caps but I doubt that will be necessary. I used the AIR BRACE to hold a Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56 PM II on top of an old 10.2 lb Sako TRG-42 through which I put about 100 rounds of 338 LM. The experience was generally unpleasant because I really don't like recoil, but the AIR BRACE did its job maintaining and returning to zero. That said, our M-BRACE rings and mount are better choices for big stuff.

We're pricing the AIR BRACE at $349 but, since tomorrow is Black Friday, we're offering it at $279 though Monday.

Enjoy and have a happy Thanksgiving.

Ted

Two stage vs Single stage on a Dd5v5

Benefits of a Two stage trigger on the DD5 V5 vs the Single stage it comes with. Gun is on the way saw the hunter had a two stage. Just curious what people think of the two types of triggers! What are some of the best of both types. Shooting at range to 500 to 800 yards I'm fine with what comes with it but just want to expand my knowledge base. Shout out to Sv_Dude for giving me some great knowledge on scopes and scope mounts. Loving the knowledge I'm gaining!! I still don't know why they only put the 2 stages on the hunter but I suspect that due to intended use, however no hunting rifle I've ever had has had a 2 stage trigger.

Accessories Grayboe Ridgeback LA Stock - Rem 700 Inlet

I have a Grayboe Ridgeback long action stock for sale. This was originally on a Bergara Premier action so it will fit all Rem700 footprint actions.

I won’t lie, this stock is a little rough around the edges and is priced accordingly. It has been painted, stripped and repainted several times. It was also devcon bedded - this will likely need to be removed and redone for your particular action. It is 100% functional though. Willing to provide additional pictures upon request. Bottom metal is NOT included.

Asking $200 shipped. I accept PayPal or Zelle.

muzzle brake for a 300 nm

so , i built a 300 norma on an mpr BA comp chassis . when i built it , i installed a Fat Bastard brake on it and it doesnt quite do the job well enough . The REcoil is fairly high and it doesnt really bother me but it keeps pulling my bipod off the arca no matter how hard i tighten it and it would be nice to get back on target a little easier . So , question is , what do you guys use on big magnums ?

Free Targets/Organizational Files/etc

Wanted to share a link from a website that I created for reloaders/competitors/hunters/shooters. This link will take you to the reproducible page. On this page you can find all the sight-in, load development, and load ladder targets that I use. Also, on the same page, will be printable versions of different "worksheets" that I use to keep my rifle data organized. Items like seating depth charts, cartridge box information, current load, and off season brass work forms. Most of these forms are in pdf or doc which means if you want to adjust to fit your personal style just download and change. Hope this helps. Happy Thanksgiving.

Precision Rifle Gear The Cole Tac Koozie

No, it’s not a catalog item, but when I realized my Cole Tac suppressor cover would make a nifty Red Bull koozie, I had them sew one up without the heat shield to fit the 8oz can dimensions. I had wanted to make a koozie for the 8oz cans since I first got addicted to these darned things years ago. The finished product showed up in the mail yesterday. Without doubt the coolest koozie at the range.

6.5 creedmoor 140 Berger Hybrid

I bought some 140 hybrids to try in my creedmoor and shot them the other day. I was using 140 elms which shot excellent but wanted to give the hybrids a go. I found my max seating depth and was going to start them around 30 though off. Given the mag length limitations I believe I had to push them about .160 off. Shot several different charge weights the other day and only a couple grouped really well. Is anyone shooting these and what kind of jump and powder charge did you end up with. With my 140 eldms I can get them .050 off and they hammer.

Components are:
Alpha LRP Brass
Federal GM 210 primers
H4350
