Precision Rifle Gear Back pack straps?

So, I have this small Eagle pack and need back pack straps for it. I located a set from Tactical Tailor, pricey though, anyone have a lead on a set? Prefer US made as this pack is.

How old is “old enough” for kids to shoot Real Rifles

Got another one for the ol Bear Pit

How old should a child be before they are ready to move to a real rifle? Not a BB, pellet, nerf etc.

I remember getting my start at 10yo. Dad made me read the user manual aloud to him and demonstrate I was actually learning. Took me the better part of a day before I really understood and more important recite it back to Dad.

I have some nephews that I’m very motivated to get into the pew pew thing, but I gotta respect the “rules” if I want to have the opportunity.

I still think 10 is the right age, sure kids differ in size and maturity and while 10 might not be the BEST age for all kids I think it’s a pretty good age.

Oh and I’m starting them on a 22lr bolt gun.

How old were you? What was the rifle?

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: PreGame Thanksgiving Day Special

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: PreGame Thanksgiving Day Special

Happy Thanksgiving Charlie Brown !

It's the day before the holidays and we have some thoughts over here at the Everyday Sniper Podcast. First off, don't forget to check out Hide TV this podcast is simulcast over there live, now with video.

I begin the show talking about Black Friday Specials, we sent out a Giant Email with some Black Friday deals. Lots of great stuff to buy for the upcoming new year. Then I go into the SG Timer 2 from Shooter's Global.

The Shooters Global Timer is complete system which integrates with your phone to manage your shooting and training. We'll have a video and review on Sniper's Hide, but needless to say we are big fan of timers, and the SG Timer 2 worked really well for us.

Next, I am big fan of where Area419 has come from, these guys have grown into a powerhouse company. I have their precision scope mount here and the entire package is awesome. We'll have more details on the Area419 stuff. I really think they hit the next level of precision rifle gear.

My big reveal,

I am going to sponsor a shooting team. I go Into some details, and where my head is with this, but I think I am gonna help some new shooters.

I am thinking I can even host a virtual team. Help them training and mentor them online. Using the Hide TV resources I believe I can create a virtual shooting team situation where they can learn and grow.

Happy Holidays everyone,

Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.

Hello from Nebraska!

Yes, believe it or not, Nebraska is actually a real place! ;)

Long time reader/lurker and I've encountered enough useful information from here over the years that I wanted to finally get registered! Don't really have any easy long range access where I'm currently located, but that doesn't stop me from being interested in stuff that's longer range than my 2 6.5 CM's. Who knows...maybe I'll even be able to snag something from the buy/sell forum someday assuming I can get the better half on board lol. Either way I'm excited to finally be here!

Spotters Advice

IMG_3241.jpegIMG_3235.jpegIMG_3243.jpegIMG_3242.jpeg

Hello Hiders!

I picked this up as part of a larger trade deal a while back and I'm just now getting around to putting it up for sale. The problem is, I have no idea what to actually ask for it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Leupold MK4 12-40 FFP Spotting Scope with Mil Dot Reticle. Has BOG Tripod components seen in pics, but no tripod.

Condition:
Glass is clear and I can see no blemishes or scratches of any kind. The adjustments turn smoothly there's nothing loose.
The body of the scope appears to have no marks. Any anomaly seen in the pictures is just lint. Other than that, not the best pictures, I know.

I intend to place it in the classified section ASAP. What is a fair market price?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Optics Schmidt and Bender 3-20x50 Ultrashort PMII TREMOR3

This is a very lightly used S&B 3-20 Ultrashort with the Tremor3 reticle and mil adjustments. It has less than 200 rounds on it fired through my MR762. I bought it brand new from Euro optic but have decided to do a G28 patrol clone so I’d be open to trading for a S&B 1-8 DualCC in RAL8000 with the T6 reticle or sell it outright for $4,000.

Feel free to message me for additional photos!

A shout out to Zeiss

I purchased a Zeiss S3 3x36x56 milr from a member here, @Macirish received it, pretty quickly. We were dealing with 3 days of rain and tornado warnings so i didnt get to the range for several days. When I did I got the elevation set, no problem. Went to set the windage and found the torx wrench broken off in the socket, see photo. I complained to the seller and he said I must have broken it and refused to give me a refund. I returned it to Zeiss and they're fixing it under warranty. Thanks to a quality company for a quality scope and great customer service.

Chainsaw: gas vs battery

I searched, and the most recent thread was from 2020. Battery technology has evolved since then.

Looking to purchase a new chainsaw - either 16 or 18" bar. I"m already into the Ryobi battery eco system, so I have been looking at their 40v saws.

I did own a 16" Ryobi gas saw 4 or so years back. It ran like a champ until I let the gas sit for 6 months. Now it is a paper weight even after I replaced the carb, lines, and spark plug. No start at all.

I live in a rural area on a very small farm = mini farm.

Hoping to find a quality saw via Black Friday sale that I will use maybe 2 to 3 times a year at most.

If I go gas, I will be more diligent this time and run it out after use.

I have no loyalty to brand. TIA for your input.

Optics SOLD.Vortex 1-10X mPVO

Like new in box Vortex 1-10x Razor 3, FFP, Illuminated, ebr-9 mil reticle.

All original box, manuals and included goodies as received from factory. Complete.

Includes Vortex factory throw lever.

I installed cheap Monstrum scope caps immediately upon receipt of scope for extra storage protection as I was waiting for the 'smith to complete the build I had bought this scope for.

While waiting for my build to be completed, I decided to go with a day/night sight rather than mPVO. So here you go...

Here's the specifics:
_clicky_

I mounted this scope to an accurate bolt rifle, took it to the range to box test and verify click value. Then it went back in it's box

$1575 ,shipped to you, CONUS.

Included:correct Vortex mount for this optic:
V-tex one piece, cantilever scope mount, like new.

Check my profile. I've been a 'Hide member 3 platforms long.

More photos available.

God bless.

SOLD Weatherby Orion 12 gauge O/U (Japan-made, like Citori)

For Sale:
Weatherby Orion (SKB) 12 gauge Over/Under shotgun

- 28" barrels with ventilated rib, mid and front beads
- Takes Browning Invector chokes (I have modified / modified in the gun right now but I believe I have a few others)
- High grade oil-rubbed walnut, game scene on receiver, jeweling inside the action

Made in Japan near where the Browning Citori's are made, not the current line of Weatherby's which are made in Turkey. Parts can still be purchased through skbshotguns.com

I have about 1,000 rounds through this, including 2 sporting clays tournaments, without a hiccup. It appeared to be virtually brand new when I bought it. The action is still very tight. I'll try to update this ad with more pictures and measurements this week.

Asking $1,050 shipped my FFL to yours.
