Seriously though this shit smells amazing!

Is that the 49$ /lb shit! Living large. Much respect. Mines supposed to be on the truck for delivery, but it's the 65$/5lb shit.

Don't drink the stuff, but I have a coffee snob for a son and a wife that loves Kona coffee. Talk about expensive!

I just got home from work, time for a nap then I’ll brew up a cup.
    Following.

‘Reaction’ videos are a big thing these days, why not start an unofficial Hide Reacts video series. Starting with a cup of coffee that costs more than a Condor ..... well, anything made by Condor.

Nap?! What are you 80? Don’t forget to record Matlock, too!

Seriously though, always looking for new coffee. I drink a pot or more daily.

Rookie. The wife drinks between 20 and 30 cups of coffee every day. She's done that all of her life. Before Covid, she'd drink 3-4 cups before leaving for work. She drinks coffee up until the time she goes to bed. I can honestly tell you that she goes into the kitchen just before going upstairs to bed and drinks a half a cup of COLD coffee.

God damn! I can honestly say about 90% of my hydration comes from coffee. I do try and drink some water... you know, cuz its good for you. Fuck that bullshit.

Coffee, Whisky and good beer. All I need.

Yeah she drinks coffee with all her meals also while she's working around the house. While she's driving. When she's putting on makeup. Just about any time she's awake.

my mom was the same way ... I just shook my head. My grandma would do the same and add Pall Mall cigs to the mix. It's a wonder I don't have lung cancer from being around her :ROFLMAO:

You smell the beans, they have a milk chocolate aroma and a candy like sweetness.

Grind it an smell it again, same chocolate but more of a dark chocolate/cocoa and smooth coffee aroma.

Smell it after brewing and it’s very mild and smooth.

First Taste with a touch of half n half, incredibly smooth, cocoa and maybe a hazelnut flavor and everything is so smooth.

Not a strong coffee but it has very distinct flavors like a super premo cigar.
This is among best coffees I’ve ever had followed by a fancy Costa Rican I had in San Francisco and Italian roast at humbolt coffee company
    Your ok @TheGerman.
This is coffee you horde to yourself.

I tried the Guatemalan Santa rosa TheGerman also mentioned for the first time today. Pretty damn good. The geisha coffee is still on the way. Unfortunately for me being in socialist Canada, the shipping is just as much as the coffee if I order from Volcanica. I ordered from a Canadian roaster instead, and it's from Ethiopia instead of Guatemala. I will have to compare the 2 when I don't mind paying $100 for a lb and see how worth it the shipping is. I'd rather buy more projectiles for that price though so we will see...

The Santa Rosa should be here Monday.
I ordered some of the decafs from volcanica on their BF special yesterday as I drink a lot of decaf in the evenings at home.

    Update on volcanica Geisha.
Had some without creamer and it was absolutely amazing.
Same cocoa and hazel nut flavors but very rich yet smooth.
    Amazing coffee.

    Currently drinking this

whole beans have a mild smell and medium roast, Smell is quite nice though.

Ground it opens up to a intense Cherry/raspberry aroma and a woodsy aroma.

Drinking it bare it’s still fruity with a crisp aftertaste.
A great everyday coffee that’s not overly strong or weak But considerably more complex than cheaper coffees.

What kind of grinder do you have and how are you brewing?

i bought some of the guatemala santa rosa to sprinkle around to family members for christmas. I almost pulled an lb of the geisha yesterday and stopped, hopefully ill get a wild hair to buy some and try it.

i actually stopped drinking coffee back in August. ive had one cup since then. The benefits of no coffee have been instant and real.

The geisha coffee is in a league of its own.
Truly amazing and it better be for the price.

Holy crap. Literally 😂 I Usually drink a pot or a little more a day. Wife says I drink to much. Hell I drink it before bed then crash.

As far as $49 per lb. to rich for my blood. Have to many expensive hobbies to be a coffee baller like that

Curious to what benefits you’ve seen by laying off the coffee? I’ll have a cup in the morning, sometimes two if I need an extra kick in the ass for the day.

So do we say "buy more coffee" now?

Im poor. I had to drop $780 for plates on my new truck.

So if anyone wants to donate a bag or two, I'll be happy to drink it... But seriously, I plan on trying some from the Germans suggested list once Im ready to stock up again.

    Buy more coffee!

ETA: I had no idea of the above post until I posted mine... Great minds.

Mainly how quickly I fall asleep. I'm off caffeine for the most part and when it comes to bed time, I'm out like a light. Before, I'd lay awake for hours sometimes. I was about 4 cups of coffee every day before that. None afternoon though.

On top of that I've been making a concerted effort to hydrate. 120+ ounces a day

Conical burr grinder set to fine. 1/2 cup beans for 9 cup pot. Coffee tastes under caffeinated and a bit hollow. No citrus tones noted.

Will try with 3/4 cup beans next time.

Mid morning follow up. Under caffeinated was probably the wrong term. I feel as awake and energized as I would with other coffees. I drink from a bubba mug. I put in the 9 cups of coffee on top of 2 oz heavy whipping cream. The German did describe that this coffee reacted strongly with cream. So next time instead of trying more beans I'll cut to one oz of cream per 9 cups coffee.

    I never got any citrus
The Geisha is the one that changes dramatically with cream and it certainly does.
I prefer the geisha black as it’s more of a flavor powerhouse then.
Creamer really toned it down but it’s still amazing.
