Buddy busted the drone out and shot some really nice stuff. The Larue really performed, took it out to 600 and 850 no problem. Keep in mind this is more fluff and cinematic than informational. I apologize for my wonky dance moves in advance. ;)

    Enjoy!

Great video. Was it a 6.5 CM ultimate upper?

308 kit. A 6.5 is my next purchase. The only issue I had was they sent me the wrong size bolt catch so had to put in a larger 308 bolt catch. Few other glitches but that had to do with my lower and the wonkiness of big block AR10 DPMS specs. The kit is really well machined, the MBT trigger is excellent and compares to a Geiseele in most respects in my opinion. The gun shoots around 1MOA right now but I will improve on that. Getting big ARs to shoot tight is an art into itself.

Overall I think Larue does fantastic work and has solid customer service.

    That's a great video.

What kind of drone was used? Serious question.

I feel your pain with that. I bought a LaRue upper to go on my Sig 716 lower, couldn't make it fit. It worked fine on a Black Rain lower, and tried it on a friends DPMS lower and worked fine. Nice shooting and dance moves

The sig 716 is a notoriously proprietary rifle, they march to their own spec drum-beat. Along with the big HK MR762, all over the map.

It was one of these $1300 DJI with 4k sensor shooting in 10bit I believe.

Thanks; the stability and video quality were excellent.

I've also had trouble using lowers that should have been compatible. Could not get an LT upper to fit on an SR25 lower. Probably could have, but would have had to drift the pins in with a hammer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the SR25 Armalite pattern and LT DPMS?

Now If only that drone could carry and place the targets where you want and retrieve them when your done.

Finally got the PRS stock on it. The Gen 3 PRS is really great, seems lighter this time around and with more adjustability. I think magpul knocked the Gen3 out of the park this time.

Love the Gen 3 PRS-perfect match for that rig.

Agreed. I kind of want to swap the CTR out on an OBR 18" for one.....and get a 6.5 UU....

EDIT: I bet OBR and tOBR sales are way down since the UU large frames came out.

So... my OBR 7.62 ran me about $3400 add $250 for the Geisseele trigger. The UU kit and lower ran me about $1500, quality seems about on par. On the OBR they did match the bolt and lugs, not sure how much that changes things as my UU seems to shoot similarly and like your average big block semi auto. I can imagine people going towards the UU kits and spending the dough on a good optic and mount.

I have one of the early OBRs with an LW barrel that is a work of art and shoots exceptionally well for any gas rifle, more like a decent bolt action which I have never had on anything else in a half dozen large frames. I had a late model tOBR that didn't have the same magic and I would not consider it worth what it cost.

The UU is more a sign of the times....remove as much human labor and fitting as possible to get a 90% product out the door for 50% of the cost that will often work as well.

The PST was probably also labor intensive with drilling and aligning two ports.

    That thing is fucking sweet.

You mention california so I'm guessing a mag lock? Or are you a "fuck Johnny Law" kind of guy?

The bullet buttons I could put up with but the stuff now is beyond all insanity.

I have one of these in 6.5 Creedmoor, that I bought third-hand from here. It'll keep a 100 yard, 10 shot group right at 1.25" with Hornady American Gunner 140 BTHP. Better with the Winchester "deer season" 130 BT, and even better still with the Federal 130 Berger load.

Haven't had a chance to stretch it out yet. There is a 1,000 yard range at a local club where I'm a member. I'll have to go there and see what's up past 300 yards.

The laws here are the dumbest shit imagined. They wound't do anything to impede a bad guy at all. I don't roll with any mages over 10 rounds however as it's now a felony apparently. The ways to get around it are a registered lower, that time has passed, or something called "featureless," with a grip wrap that makes the pistol grip so you can't get your thumb around it. Because that pistol grip is what really kills people...right? It's funny, as all my LEO friends think it's stupid. At some point I might just move back to Arizona...

With 6.5 I hope you get a chance to go the distance as that is really a long distance cartridge. I suspect that when I load for this thing it's going to tighten up quite well. If you can get a big gas gun to shoot under one MOA then that is an accomplishment. Expecting a gas gun to shoot like a good bolt gun is probably unrealistic, however some Larue's do shoot very well.

Hicap mags are still legal, a judge told them to piss off but it's going to trial at the appeals level next year and it'll likely lose simply because of massive money on the side of the state especially if they get to the 9th which is all communist.

And yeah I'm headed for AZ too. Fuck this place.

No shit! I stand corrected then. Either way if they catch you with it and want to burn you it's added pain for you. Now my LEO buddies say that if you're a turd it's added ammo for a conviction but they don't make it a practice to go after peoples guns. That said... Newsome is coming online and that guy is a gun grabber in it's definition. I have a feeling that soon enough it will be mandate to go firearms infractions.
