Who in the fuck actually falls for this crap.

I will say that my mistake was playing along and pressing "1" to talk to someone just so I could tell them to Fuck Off!
They continue to call back... Do not answer them, ever, they are relentless.

The following link is supposed to be The Federal Trade Commission "National Do Not Call Registry".

Answer, tell them you are on another call and put them on hold. Waste their time.

    .
"Let me go to the bank and get change for a hundred. You stand here and hold your breath til I get back."

Man I had one of those IRS scammers on the line for over 30 minutes one time. I kept stringing him along pretending like I was scared and asking him what I could do he told me to go buy a gift card to pay off my bill. I told him I had a store across the street I could run over and get one if he could wait on the phone......LOL I had him on the line while I went outside and changed the oil in my truck. I came back in he was still on the line so I strung him along even more I kept giving him a bullshit gift card number over and over. I figured hell why not have a little fun between working on my truck. He finally figured out I was fucking with him. I don't know what the fuck he was saying in his language, but I am sure he was cursing me out....LOL

The donotcall.gov is a waste of time. Still get 10-20 scammers a day calling me

    Log 'em.

    Sue 'em.

    Cash in.

There's more than one person that does this for a living. If you know how to work the system and don't have to pay a lawyer, which you don't, it's pretty easy. The evidence is impossible to refute.

I do think you need something that will sufficiently log the calls though.

Good luck with Do Not Call. I think I have half my area code and pretty much all my exchange blocked on my phone. F’n scammers!

I signed up on several different sites to block those calls. Went through AT&T as well. It seemed to help me out quite a bit. I don’t get as much as I used too.

I got a random email today saying my insurance has lapsed and I need to call the number... wasn’t even an email from my insurance lol.

I feel bad for the elderly that get tricked into this shit. But younger people?? You deserve getting screwed for being a fucktard for falling for such an easy scam

I mean it works or they wouldn’t do it. I bet these old country folks around here get hit. Those green dot card scams are a beast. I can’t believe people fall for it either but they do.

We are plagued by phone scammers here too.
    If it's a private number, I don't answer it.
My Babe had a call on Monday, claiming to be the ATO (inland revenue)
A recording saying she owed $9000 in tax arrears, and court papers being processed. Ring a cell number to arrange payment.
Fucken wankers, that could send an elderly person into a tailspin.
Over here, you can access your tax information on line, but elderly or anxious people don't know about these facilities, or how to access them.
    Fuckers.

If I'm not busy I fuck with those assholes every chance I get..... Usually put it on speaker phone and the guys around me are busting a gut by the time they hang up on me....

My buddy at work answers those calls all the time and fucks with them as ruthlessly as possible. It’s usually someone from India, to which he talks about how delicious bacon is and asks how the Pakistani nuclear program is coming along

And in case anyone hasn’t realized yet, don’t register on the “we will sell your number to guarantee a bunch of calls” list.

So i get a call today from a number thats similar to some of these spam calls I normally get , wasn't busy so I was gonna fuck with em . Answer it , and a recorded robot type voice says " this is only a test call , please stay at home and stay safe ..... the virus is out there . " then it hangs up. I'm still trying to figure out wtf that was all about ?????

Me too. And the voice was creepy af. Calm, almost soothing. Close enough to a normal human speech, but something was just a bit off....
"This is only a test call. Stay home. Stay safe. The virus is out there. Stay home and stay safe."
It reminded me of something from Logan's Run or The Island.

i was getting like a 100 calls a week from one of those extended warranty companies, i decided to answer one and play along

I told them I had a mint condition powder blue 1973 ford pinto runabout that I would pay any price to put under extended warranty because repair bills were killing me

The lady didn't get the joke at all, she was searching and searching and was like I don't see that model available for coverage
I even threw in some concern about the warranty covering explosions, still she didn't get it
I asked to speak to her manager as I was upset with her inability to handle my request and sell me a warranty

I was seriously entertaining myself for like 20 minutes, she finally said I am sorry sir that car just isn't available for a warranty, so serious

    The calls stopped

Any unwanted text I get I just reply back "stop" and you will instantly get a reply back with something like "this number has been taken off our list to start receiving text again text back "unstop" Who in the hell would ever text back "unstop"

If you have a land line this is one of the few devices that works:

I did have to change my cordless phones from Uniden to vtech for it to work without ringing.

If you have an Android phone enable priority only do not disturb, unless a caller is in your contacts the phone will not ring.

Sadly IOS is behind on this. You can add 'priority' callers but is one by one.

Lastly stop giving out your damn number to everyone that asks.

They used that to locate live numbers.

My oldest son gave Ted Cruz a few bucks during the last election. Cruz sold his list to the RNC. My son gets non-stop texts from every R candidate and their lackeys. Needless to say, they'll never see another penny from him.

I get a new "car warranty" call every day. I block the number but a new one shows up the next day; do these fools think they can annoy you into buying an extended warranty?

Even if 1% of 1% of the calls result in someone falling for the scam, that's all they need. This is why scammers send phishing emails, make scam calls, etc. It costs them next to nothing to launch these campaigns and they're just playing the numbers game.

I played with the "your SSN has been suspended" people a while back. He told me he was sending agents to my house.
I was like really, what's my address?? He said, and I quote "I'm going to fuck you up dickface" then he hung up. That was fun

Made the same mistake. Got one of his yard signs. I don’t get calls but the texts are literally nonstop. I’d give em $100 to never text me again.

Some bitch named Sandra used my phone # for some Democrat mailing list so I get all of those now too
