***After excuses and other BS for 5 months now, he has ghosted me for the last 2 weeks, stay away from him***

I ordered a Coti ($4000) from him in September, after a few months of excuses, no communication for the last month. I have called and texted multiple times and nothing. I know of several others in the same position.
I hope you post up in here Pete with an explanation...

I ordered from a company many people here on the hide (and many other places) had used successfully for years. It seems things have changed...

I know of 4 other people experiencing similar behavior from pete/i2, inclulding myself.
The matter is complexified due to respect for Pete's past service to his country and the NV community as well as his medical situation. But all of us who purchased items in the past few months and have not received them, still hope we will eventually receive them.

Complexified? WTF does that even mean? Try complicated.....

Anyway, none of the things you've listed as "mitigating factors" even matter one bit when doing business.

Service to the country isn't a get out of jail free card. Why should anyone get a free pass because they're a veteran. I'm one and I don't expect one for shitty service.

As far as medical issues, yes, they suck. But if you run a business better have a plan B to continue (or wind down) operations and honoring commitments while you're ill.

Hmmm....Pete has had some serious medical issues. Ones that could make running a business pretty difficult. I (late last year) did business with him, and while it hit a few snags, concluded satisfactorily. I'd hold back from lighting a fire and grabbing the pitch forks just yet. I know I had to be a little persistent to make sure things moved along, but having had similar health issues, I understood and took it with a grain of salt. I hope he's doing okay....

That's certainly one way of looking at it...and your choice. IMHO, he doesn't have a whole lot of choice in being sick. But again, that's just how I look at it, and is my choice (and admittedly, I don't have any money tied up in this).

Do what you think is right. <shrug>

Pete told me he had my coti but was having issues programming it. So I told him to send it as is. That was 2 weeks ago and no reply. I have had nothing but excuses for 5 months now.

You're absolutely right. Being sick isn't a choice and we have to make it by as best we can. Not returning comms on work that is months old and has been paid for while apparently still able to communicate on and complete newer work is a choice though and it is horseshit.

... Dude's having some serious health issues. Might wanna handle this via PM's vs in public ...

Are you aware of the number of people who have sent Pete $$ and not received their items ??

Are you aware of the amount of $$ that has been sent with nothing received ??

Are you aware of the number of months people have been waiting ??

Are you aware of the respect these people have for Pete's service and his knowledge and contributions to the NV community ??

Do you assume these people are not aware of Pete's medical issues ??

If the answers are Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes and No, then you are in the loop !!

And that was not my point, but whatever.

Do as you please....

2 weeks being ghosted after more than 5 months of excuses. Time to go to the police...

You could always just dispute the transaction with your bank and take your business elsewhere. Getting the police involved may be a little extreme and a last resort kinda deal.

Most of the time, being sick is the result of bad choices. Still no excuse in my book

He wasnt too sick to take your money, fuck him.

I have absolutely no horse in the race (hell, I couldn't even try to buy from him being north of the line), but having dealt with a similar situation in the past this sums things up succinctly. If you are too sick to work, best wishes on a speedy recovery but you best not take my money. Close out your website, stop taking on new work and ask existing customers to be patient. This should be basic, common sense behaviour for anyone, much less a respected veteran and member of the business community.

Furthermore, and I hate to bring it up, but what if (God forbid) he were to pass? Without a plan in place the widow and customers inherit a shitty situation all round. It would be a nightmare for every single person involved and it is completely avoidable.

If I was very sick my wife, kids, parents, friends, pay someone and could certainly pick up slack and mail an item, respond to questions. There is NO excuse for not keeping your customers in the loop unless you're dead.

There are worse things than being dead my friend, far worse.

In this particular case, its most likely hereditary, so the bad choice would be "being born".

I don't disagree. But communication goes along ways. Simple as giving instructions to someone, changing message on your website. Keeping customers in the dark does no one any favors.

I hear what you're saying and agree with your intended message. That being said, I've also spent a short amount of time being physically unable to speak or move much. Not being able to control basic body function due to whatever, is far worse than being dead IME. That was my point. That and I don't think many of us here know the full extent of his illness. Is what has happened a shit sandwich? Yeah, it sure sounds like it. But before we break out the torches, and burn someone at the stake, we might want to let the individuals affected, gather their facts and determine if there is an action worth taking (legally and morally).

I'm not defending Pete per se, I'm just saying let's not burn someone at the stake if we don't have all the details. And I'm reasonably certain I don't have all of them; at least based on the PM's I've received.

Respectfully,

MPMI

Isn't it funny how he was suddenly able to contact you after you started this thread? Similar to the 2 times he's actually returned my calls or emails after I had to "rattle the cage" so to speak.

Eta: let me clarify. The 2 times he's returned comms, post payment.

So where does this Lesbo live exactly?

Hey all, just wanted to throw my hat in the ring on this thread. I’m into Pete for around $4500. Ordered November 2019, last comms January 2020. Last word was “emmission points” from the last batch of L3 tubes. Multiple text & phone messsages have gone unanswered/unreturned since then.

Yeah, for $4K it would be worth a personal visit for sure. If nothing else to pay your respects.

Can someone give me an exact address and name. I am not looking to show up on anyones door step, nor am I looking to hurt any one. I do have a way with speaking with local authorities and some times a simple stop by conversation from one of them, either to the family and or person, has a motivating experience. If someone would like to PM this information, I cant guarantee anything, but I will try.

At the risk of the following flames I can see coming. ..

I am not a spokesman for Pete Lesbo, nor related to him, nor do I have any business interest involved with him. I do not speak for him or his family. But, in the interest of all involved.

I am aware of the illness he has. I have lost three family members to it. It is insidious and steals both your life and mind.
It can put a family in an unbelievable situation over night, and the family response is difficult to adjust to losing a once vibrant individual into one that can no longer care for themselves.

He is a retired Marine of impeccable character with a disease that has stolen his life. To the person who thinks it could be due to a bad choice, NOT...

Those of you who choose to road trip and speak with the authorities may be escorted out of town.

Those who road trip and put a brick through his window may meet former Marines with a Mattis plan.

My professional suggestion to those of you who have money invested, is to send a registered letter, verified delivery through the post office, and see what response you receive.

It is very possible that you might have to file a claim against his estate.

Please do not commit any brick through window or other criminal actions against him. Please follow the legal channels.

Very Respectfully,
Thank you.

Well, that changes things.
