Tamir Rice was 12 years old and actually had a VERY realistic looking toy gun he reached for... He was pointing it at people and trying to scare them.

Tamir Rice was going to die via Darwinism sooner or later. Daniel Shaver was a full grown adult at 26 with two kids, looked 35, and was crying like a baby. Calling Daniel Shaver a "boy" is not just misleading, its downright dishonest, which is why he didn't mention Daniel's age. Comparing those two as if there is some significant comparison to be made is retarded. (of course, I'm assuming I have the right Daniel Shaver (shafer?))

When I listen to these kinds of videos, I always make sure to double check the information being presented. When the speaker is being misleading, it usually shows up in the prologue when they are attempting to frame the rest of their message.

As soon as I hear someone being misleading, I stop listening to them.

Just my 2 cents.
Interesting, Yeah I just threw that up for debate. Glad you added to the commentary!

To a 50 something a 20 something is a kid. I don't think he was trying to be deceptive. If you would have watched to get his context. I doubt you would think he was trying to be deceptive.

I didn’t watch the video but am familiar with the kid who was shot. You can see in video the cop is outa the car before it even stops and is unloading on a kid. The guy that called dispatch said he was pretty sure it was a toy and it’s a kid. Cops claim they gave verbal orders but if he is shooting before his partner even stops the car I call b.s. the cop was way to trigger happy but if this was a white kid no one would have noticed. I am tired of all this blacklivesmatter b.s. Race isn’t the issue. Trigger happy cops are.

I agree, but I think he intentionally left out the age for a reason.

Can we find an example of a white child of Tamir's age group being intentionally shot by a cop? 6 pages of googling and I still didn't see it. Of course, this says nothing about the cop involved in the Tamir Rice incident.

For every black killed he names, he names a white person that was killed that did not garner media attention. That was his point of naming people. You and others got hung up assuming the point he was trying make. 6 pages of googling, and if you listened to him for 25 seconds you would have had 5 names that you are looking for. LOL.

But what would be the point of that? Hundreds of people are shot by cops every year under a wide variety of circumstances and I'm sure that he could find one black, one white, one Asian and probably even one Eskimo. He'd have to sit there for (days?) synchronizing the data on a one to one basis, then run a regression analysis, just to scratch any meaningful statistical information from it. And that's kind of my point, he started off with a flawed comparison by pointing out Tamir was just 12 years old and then moving to a full grown adult (portrayed in the same light as a 12 year old with the comment "boy") as if it was relevant.

Maybe I just see it in a different perspective. My favorite line from Stephen Covey's book is "The world is not what you see but the lens through which you see it"

You can't see it from any perspective because you don't know what he said because you did not watch it. That is called willful ignorance. Now you want to debate about what you don't know. Thats retarded.

You are not going to get statistics on crime and race. You will find only what the left allows to be collected and dispersed. Departments are forbidden to release basic, simple statistics regarding race of perps. One that cannot be found is race of rape victims and rapist. It cannot come out as the facts do not support the left’s agenda.
BTW, Ever wonder why rape of a victim of another race is not a hate crime?

The cop who murdered Tamir had a history of mental issues and I believe he had just recently got dumped by his girlfriend which added to his issues and should have never been approved to be a cop. As far as white kids Tamir's age being killed by cops, it's been happening for decades where kids would point real looking toy guns at cops and got shot for it. The difference in Tamir's case was he never once pointed the gun at the cops. And let's not forget the amount of times we have heard about cops tasing young kids.

This is like the One Shot can all over again. Can no one get past line one? Its 14 minute talk. Not one comment about what he was talking about. I don't agree with all his bases, but I agree with some of his assertions. Lots of paths to the water hole.

What kind of fool would wait until a gun is pointed at them to react?

While sad, I don't see this as a condemnation of police, but of shitty parents. If mom taught their kids how to act and occasionally beat their ass at home, the cops wouldn't have to beat their ass in public.

Every single one of us because there has to actually be a threat to our lives before we can legally use lethal force.

There can be an actual threat long before the gun is aimed at you.
If you wait until their gun is out and aimed at you, before you attempt to draw yours, that's a mistake you'll only make once.

The self defense law is the same for cops and everyone else. A reasonable threat of imminent death or serious bodily harm.
Someone facing you and going for a gun meets those elements..... as evidenced by the numerous examples of no charges being filed, or not guilty verdicts when charges are filed.

Really? So now you're saying we have to be able to predict the future? Okay, how's this for a scenario. I myself am a CCer and I happen to be browsing in the sporting good section of Wal-Mart looking at rimfire ammo and I see a 12 year old kid in the airgun section holding a realistic looking airsoft gun. That's a threat right according to you? So that means I get to legally double tap the kid because I feel he might be a threat even though he's not doing anything threatening at the current moment?

As you should know, it's the totality of the circumstances.

A person in a gun store would have a legitimate reason to be holding a gun.
Reaching for a gun as police are coming up next to you means you did society a favor by removing yourself from the gene pool.

Is the bear to blame for your subsequent mauling, or are you just an idiot who won a Darwin award?

He’s a threat to America if he’s shopping for a air gun in Walmart without exhausting all other options first.. take em out

Wow! There’s a whole lot of what ifs going on just to be argumentative in this thread. I can tell you that if I’m approaching a situation where I’ve been told that there might be a gun and someone reaches for their gun (real or not, how am I to know?), I will do what is necessary to survive. I am not waiting until someone has drawn down on me and is pointing a firearm at me before I respond (again, how do I know it is a realistic copy?).

I’ll let you do that and laud your restraint when we discuss how sad it is to lose you.

When I was a kid I remember running around at the creek by my house with a fake gun, playing army with my friends. A cop on the nearby street got on her speaker and told me to drop the weapon imedeatly. I ran off into the trees.

Same thing goes with dipshits who go around playing "gun pranks" on unsuspecting pedestrians and passing vehicles. A few years back a couple of idiot Youtubers were doing that kind of stunt. One was called "Russian Hitman" or mobster...or something like that. Just a bunch of THC-addled punks with nothing better to do with their lives and trust funds. Seems like a perfect way to get themselves ventilated somewhere.

They stopped really quick too. After just starting and getting popular online. Near death experience perhaps? Asshats.

He was being told to put the gun on the table of the gazebo or whatever the hell he was sitting in and was shot for following orders by the mentally ill murderous cop. He never once went for the gun by his own decision or pointed it at the cops. I don't even need an audio clip to know what happened because it happens all the time anytime more than one cop are there shouting their bullshit orders. One shouts one thing and the other shouts something totally different just to confuse the person they wanna arrest or shoot.

The only reason why I continue to keep posting in this thread is I was just like Tamir at his age. Airsoft fights at the public park and my oldest son is currently Tamir's age and him and his little brother have airsoft fights in the backyard and at friends homes. Bottom line is that Tamir was murdered and I cannot and will not support the murder of a 12 year old child no matter how much people try to spin it. This shit hits close to home with me because I have zero tolerance for cold blooded violence against children. Period!

So on one hand the "murderous cops" were blasting as they got out of their car, and also telling Tamir to put the gun on the gazebo?

I wish the apologists would pick one excuse and stick to it.

Things are too easy now a days, it used to be that dumbasses like that would get culled out by Darwinian utility. People like that need a punch in the face once and a while to remind them of just how short life can be.

That aside this thread really derailed. No one want's children to die, no matter what the circumstance. Air guns and Airsoft guns look too damn real these days, I know that's the point but as a police officer I can imagine how hard it is to discern between real and fake as well as intention. You never know, as well that's not to detract from the fact that some LEO abuse their authority, most are great people but there is a minority of them that can be dangerous.

Where did I ever say they got out of the car blasting considering only 2 shots were fired from the mentally ill cop from like 10 feet from Tamir and 1 missed. As soon as they rolled up they both shouted different orders and that's when the shooting happened. Don't try to troll me or make up shit I never said.

Just to provide the video.

IIRC back when we were talking about this when it happened, I thought it was a good yet tragic shoot. That kid just didn't have the sense he should have had at that age.

Where did you hear any commands?
In what goofball world do cops tell an armed suspect to reach for their weapon?

TRUTH. As a youngin', I did stupid things too. But when I did something really stupid, I'd get my ass soundly whooped by my father and I'd learn very quickly not to do stupid shit again. And as an adult I am always grateful to my parents and grand uncle for raising me the way I am.

Learning to have good sense is like learning to ride a bicycle. It is better you learn it early in life. The later you do it, the more painful and embarrassing the learning curve is going to be.

I don't remember seeing the part where the sister got tackled. More fucked up shit added to the mix.

I think he is referring to my comment. It’s been a while but it seems to me I saw a different angle like more behind the car. At the time I remember cops claiming to give verbal commands. Are you really gonna claim that cops were able to have time to give even a stop command while opening a door, climbing out, drawing duty pistol, opening fire, and then retreating to the back of the car?

Last time I read the constitution we the people had a right to be armed. I see a boy walking up to a police car that just pulled up super trooper style. He is not pointing anything. When did the constitution get rewritten to take from us and give to cops the right to take a life for being armed?

The driver side window of the police car was closed, but maybe the passenger side was open and that officer had his head out the window in 30° weather, screaming commands as they wheeled in at high speed.

I suspect his window was up while he was yelling commands.. kinda like in saving Ryan’s privates when ze jermans in the trench with hands up were shot and one guy was like what did he say.. the other guy said look I washed for supper

That might be the best thing that ever happens to those two sisters. Those two girls will probably claim back injuries, headaches, PTSD, and sexual dysfunction.

Think of the lawsuit to follow. College tuition, new car, new clothes, and a better phone with more megapixels to keep filming bad cops.

If what went down in that video is "video accurate", those cops better hope I'm not on the jury.
Two problems with your analysis
  1. The cops won't pay. Their employer will, which means the people who pay taxes to run that PD will pay.
  2. This should not be a civil matter, it should be a criminal matter and those fucks should be facing prison time for violation of constitutional and civil rights under the color of law

Why would anyone watch a video once they find out the very first agenda biased comparison is so flawed it boarders on blatant dishonesty? You don't start off comparing apples and then throw in an orange and pretend its an apple. Actually, in this case, it would be throwing in a cantaloupe and pretending its an apple.

That's not willful ignorance, its analytical skepticism and critical thinking, and a desire to NOT waste my time having to verify every damn thing the guy says because the very first thing he said was flawed.

I'd be willing to bet the barn he did it again later in the video, the con jobbers (IE: agenda pushers) almost always do.

You know why I checked his example? Because he mentioned Tamir's age and didn't mention the other guys age. That sent my BS detector on alert, and my BS detector is finely tuned.

I understand if you have a different opinion on this, but I have almost no tolerance for agenda based information dressed up as science or research or even informed opinion.

You have no idea what was said, or the points he was making. Yes, that is willful ignorance. The only way he was comparing those people is by how much media attention they garnered. He wants to know why its not news that inner city teen murder rates are so high. The video has nothing to do with Tamir rice. The beginning is leading the audience to him coming to grips with the fact that the police are not the problem. Very interesting talk from a very intelligent man.

Critical thinking. LMAO. All you did was know one was black and one was white. and assumed his agenda from there, probably based on his skin color. How analytically skeptical of you.:ROFLMAO: Judge, jury and executioner in 10 seconds.

You know, it wont hurt you to listen to someone you disagree with. ;)

If you watch the Tamir video, he reaches for the gun as soon as the cops pull up. The dispatcher never relayed that it was a toy, not that it mattered.

I know it was like there was absolutely no cover around. The park was also soooo crowded!

Just the other day it had been raining and their was 1 little black kid playing in a park by himself. He pointed at me as I drove by and smiled. Kind of one of those hey how you doing gestures.
I thought it was a pistol. So I ran his ass over.

Their dad or uncle needs to find these less than men. Cops have even tackled pregnant women on film. People need to grab their ballsack and start intervening.

Or perhaps show them a bit better what it's like for others.
They walk out to their mailbox and there is this tubular piece of wood just going along it's merry way and they accidentally happen to get in it's path.

so these two girls are riding with a 17 year old boy, with an outstanding warrant, drugs, and a gun in the vehicle. Girls are being non compliant, having a gun there I'd tackle them too. A woman could shoot you just as easily as anybody else. These officers will be cleared by the investigation.

Yea while sad that bias and behavior is expected at wartime.. has no place in America though

Clearing them dont make it right. We have a right to be armed and do you have kids? What if those were your daughters? We have a right to personal property, we have a right to film.. if your being arrested you even have the right to know what for.. A dad could shoot easier than a woman.
