Here is this woman kidnapping your kid and walking away with him, so this guy grabs the kid and has a tug-of-war. WTF, if you are behind her as he must have been you throw a choke on her then when she passes out and drops the kid you slam her to the ground and pick up your kid and leave her to the police.

When you are playing tug-of-war with your kids are you could easily hurt the kid.

Option 2: Speed walk to the front of her and full powered right hook right to the jaw...

Not only would her kidnapping attempt have failed, she would have something for the rest of her life to remember that moment by: The missing teeth in her mouth and possibly fractured/broken jawbone. Crime hurts, doesn't it?

Punch to the kidney will stop her faster than a rear choke and no tug of war would be needed.

The difference is seconds at most, once the choke is applied the child is in no further danger. kidney is a small target and moving, possible to miss. In any event she is walking away from the punch which will rob the punch of some of its power. I would be sure that I am not going to miss the choke, but even if she turned out to be a short necked tranny with a neck like a bull I could turn it into a head lock, bring her to the ground and then twist as required to end the risk to the child.

If you are a golden gloves boxer the punch might be better for you. For me the choke is more sure and just as fast to remove the kid from risk with less chance of failure.

Thank you for that explanation. Yes reading the story in the news as processed by a journalist for easy consumption in our dens and offices it is easy to draw that conclusion. Yet if I were the father on that spot I would not make such a judgement at that time. My entire thinking ability would be how to remove my kid from risk as quickly and safety as possible. It would not matter if the person were a sex trafficker, an adoption placer, an EDP, or a federal agent matters not at all. I would be scanning to see if the person had an helper other than that I would proceed without care as to the persons motive. I only care about my child.

    where's my pencil...?

she'd be released if she was an illegal immigrant.

Woman charged after video captures her allegedly trying to run off with couple's children at airport

    al·leg·ed·ly
used to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof.

Does anyone else get tired of the word allegedly always being used when there is absolute proof that it did happen. I have noticed that when someone on the right is accused of wrong doing it is very seldom used, but when someone on the left is accused it is almost always used.........Just an observation.

All that knock the bitch out stuff, is assume assuming your split second read of the situation was correct.

But what if the lady in the pink hat was actually the Mother/legal guardian and the lady with the kids was actually a crazed nanny or similar.

Not sure the guy did anything wrong by acting quickly but using some restraint.. nocking out the wrong person might not work out so good.

No one would be at risk when a child was involved

I would rather ask for forgiveness than be wrong in that situation.

This site does definitely have it's fair share of armchair commandos when we read news stories, but when a small child is involved it easily gets under our skins especially if we are the parents of young children ourselves. Hits very close to home.

News is shit. It's the main reason for high blood pressure. People that get all wound up about something that someone else told them are worse than mechanical sheep.

True. As a bystander witnessing a potential kidnapping, one must always observe first. But in this case, the guy is the child's father.

F'n with an EDP should be done with extreme caution. Because shit can go sideways real quick. But I do agree, throat punch the bitch! Mac

    This.

In the last couple of years in New York City there had been several high profile cases of police trying to talk down EDP's into surrendering and allowing medical personnel to take them to the hospital, only to have the EDP's pull knives, scissors or baseball bats. In a couple of these cases, the officers had no choice but to fire their sidearms in self defense. Followed by the SJW's and BLM screaming and protesting and turning it into a shitstorm. The truth is, EDP's come in a variety of unknown flavors, much like those prank jellybeans. You simply don't know what the fuck is ticking inside their heads. I've heard of guys trying to offer "homeless" women blankets and clothing, and end up being stabbed in the face by them. No provocation needed. This is what most of the public don't know and are not aware of. LE and medical first responders are too aware of this however, because they have to deal with this shit every day.

According to the story in the op the guy who struggled tug-of-war style with the kidnapper was the "mother's husband" so I am assuming that he was the father of the children. You are very correct that if you were to witness something like this as a stranger rather than a family member you would not have enough certainty to act as most of us have described. Indeed perhaps the best you could do is to stop anyone from leaving before the police arrive to sort it all out.

I wonder what would have happened if the parent just drew their weapon (if they had one) and fired. They would be in jail for shooting a poor innocent kidnapper in an airport.

Try and take one of my grandkids from me I won't chase you...I will shoot you.

Nothing can make a parent more emotionslly distressed than messing with the kiddos so.

I'll see your EPD and raise you papa bear defensive rage with sharp objects.

Ill tell you one thing there WONT be.
    A tug-o-war with the kid.

Based on what I read in handgunlaw.us (with references to Georgia law), it IS legal to carry a concealed handgun within the non-secured areas of airport terminals.

So while the cops probably would have shit a brick and arrested him, my bet is he would skate any charges.
