Mercurochrome was level 1
Merthiolate was level 2 for more serious
Iodine was the big dog level 3 and hurt as much as the wounding
Did nobody use Batcine? "Doesn't hurt the hurt". Uses benzalkonium chloride for it's active ingredient, and no alcohol. That is why those other three hurt, Mercurochrome, Tincture of Merthiolate and Iodine, all have alcohol in them.
