I don’t see China getting too friendly with Islamic extremist in Afghanistan and vise versa. Look at what they are doing to those populations in western China. Afghanis have been fighting off foreign invasion for centuries, I don’t see them wanting the Chinese there anymore than US, Russia, British and Persians before.
Related to Afghanistan’s illicit supply I would look more at Pakistan and Iran as that is where much of it goes and whats going to happen when their supply line dries up?

As long as a single person crosses China's borders, COVID will enter. And the more the government is trying these lockdowns, the angrier people are going to get until officials and enforcers start to become the targets of retribution murders, and possibly all out civil war.
