    "Your tail light is out"
    "I want to see it"
    "You're under arrest"
"Get out of the car" while being immobilized by tazer juice.
    Then dragged out and beaten

    Back the blue baby

Just general nonsense and stupidity. The driver wants to know how this happened? I can sum it up for him in one sentence. Citizens lacking common sense and disobeying basic commands and officers lacking basic communication skills.

We found the guy who thinks its ok to taze and beat a dude who asks to see the tail light that is out.
    And “wouldnt follow orders”.
Good Officers dont command peaceful people.
    Pussies with a complex do.

Any cop who starts a shoving match vs being able to verbally de-escalate that should be doing something else for a living.

Go slurp at the fountain of popo worship somewhere else.

Says the guy that misinterpreted my entire post and also misquoted me..."and officers lacking basic communication skills." I think I made it pretty clear that this should have never happened and that the police were in the wrong.

Kind of weird that you think anything goes while being detained as long as you are being "peaceful."

Exactly. By now everyone should know that you just stay in your car. Had he done that it would all have been avoided. When the stop is over get a time stamped photo for court.

Thats not to say the Popo didnt over react here.

Should I be outraged that some random stranger on the other side of the country was mistreated by the police just because he happens to have a similar shade of skin color as me? how stupid is that.

How you react in a traffic stop means all the difference in the world.
Lucky for me I have had so much practice at getting pulled over that now it doesn't even raise my blood pressure or heart rate to get stopped.

    Only been tased once! LOL

Both parties did a lot wrong here. The driver was wrong in pushing to see the tail light at that moment. He can look all he wants when done. He then clearly pulls away from the officer and resists. Then the shit show starts going downhill from there.

Be sure to post an update when the court rules.

Right now cops are at their weakest. Zero support from media…..

    Get out of that car
    Get in their face
    Get your ass kicked
    Make that money

He's white he ain't getting shit and he'll be lucky to not get locked up in some shithole okiehoma jail for resisting or disorderly or something.

This. He likely would have gotten off with a warning IF he did as I do:

-Stay in the car, put both hands on the wheel in plain sight HOLDING THE PAPERWORK HE'S GOING TO WANT. If its at night snap on the dome light so he can see the inside of the car (keep the front clear so he doenst need to worry about a pistol under the newspaper or shirt.

    -Be polite and respectful.

-If you carry , "Officer, I have a CCW, the weapon is in the glove box, here's my permit, would it make yuo more comfortable if I exited the vehicle?"

Im peaceable and law abiding citizen, Sir, just like you I only want to go home safely to my family"

If you refer to my first post (post #2) I did acknowledge he’s at a disadvantage in this aspect.

You do you but this is not something I recommend unless your state law requires you to do so.

Here in Ohio we finally got rid of that "duty to inform" starting June 13. We only have to say so if asked.

Handing a CCW to a LEO with my license has always meant "not a felon".
Lately they ask where the weapon is and then almost always answer with "If you don't touch yours, I won't touch mine".

The reason they pulled him over was shit.
If they actually cared anything about safety, they could have just said, hey your tail light is out, please go get the bulb changed at your next stop and all good.

    But nope...

Cue the boot lickers who I'm sure will be defending the police for anything and everything because apparently the guy didn't grovel fast enough and offer to lick their boots clean.

This moron refused to stop because his lights were too bright or something like that, some say illegal stop? But I think it’s fair for the cops to stop you if you have an equipment malfunction.
So anyways then this dude keeps driving for 30 minutes then gets out and shoots at the cops. Now we got to support his sorry carcass for 18 years.

Intoxicated drivers have notoriously made poor decisions...

Driver was not entitled to get out of the car and, assuming he opened the door, he wasn't entitled to do that either unless he first informed the officer that the window mechanism didn't work and the officer agreed to him opening the door. That said, the officer has a responsibility to de-escalate and, from what's available in this video, the response seems excessive, just like it would have been with a black man in the same situation. But why can't people simply sit in the bloody car? Just sit in the fucking car and talk to the officer. Ask nicely to see the issue. Don't barge out of the car in entitled disbelief. Just sit in the mother fucking car. Why are traffic stops such flash points for some people?

Lots of humans dislike authority on pretty much any level....
Most are able to contain themselves long enough to get past it without being arrested.

Here they know only if you're driving a car registered to you. If you're not, they won't.

I've been stopped when I wasn't carrying. I said nothing when the trooper showed up at the door. She stood there looking at me and asked "is there something you need to tell me?" Me: "nope". Her: "what about concealed weapons?" Me: "I'm not carrying any".

    Then there's this:

As far as I'm concerned the less said about guns during an encounter with the cops, the better.

Since when does a some jerk in a uniform mean you are no longer free to get out of your vehicle if you wish just by virtue of their presence?
Arrogant police thugs who like to think they should have everybody grovel, and bootlickers that cater to their delusions of power.

Did the police officer say that they were being detained and that they must remain in the vehicle first?

Perhaps someone wants to get out of their vehicle so they are clearly on camera so the police can't shoot them and then claim they were reaching for something so of course "I have a right to go home safely." (This has happened too many times and of course as usual there is no justice for the victims murdered by the police).

Why are traffic stops such flash points for some people?

Because some folks work hard for their money, don't have a lot of it, and are not all that happy about bandits with badges taking what little they have and then telling them tough, take it up with the corrupt, complicit courts.

Apologies. Lack of sleep and poor reading this AM got me there.
I will own that and not edit out my mistake.

Im not excusing the driver being a doofus.
    He was.

I will also say that when you deal with the general public, you best be prepared for an avg IQ of about 80.
You have to be able to work with what happens and there is no time to read up or prepare.
And yeah, I work with these kind of fools (both of them) and am well versed.

I got taken out of my car once, stopped because my taillight was out. Standing at the back at gunpoint, I looked over at both my working taillights. The one officer (the one that wasn't pointing his gun at me) said "Well, it's a little dimmer than the other."

Here , we’re required to notify them. I’ve always thought that it was a good thing if dealing with a good officer but bad if dealing with a moron. I drive a company vehicle most of the time so they wouldn’t know unless they run my license. Not all, but the majority of LE in my area are morons just like the rest of people. “If you don’t touch yours, I won’t touch mine,” seems like a good way to get plugged.

All of that sounds great, especially the last point. But, regardless, you are compelled to follow the officer's instructions during an investigation, which is what a traffic stop is. Simply sit in the car -- do not feel entitled to open the door and get out of the car without permission. The officer DOES have the power in that situation. If you want to change the law, let's go for it. I'm with you. But if the officer didn't allow you to open the door and get out of the car, then stay in the car. I realize the media has drummed up a great deal of fear of police in general and your own and others experience inform your opinion here, but that doesn't change the fact you have been detained. You are being detained when you are subject to an investigation during a traffic stop. You are not under arrest, but you are being detained.

The officer(s) overreacted, clearly. No question in my mind there.

When I see this type of situation and it's a black man, I often see (not saying you) people arguing my exact point. "He should have stayed in the car." "He should have complied with the officer's instructions." "It's all his fault." But this time the sentiment is it's the officer's fault only.

The driver is at fault here inasmuch as the officer overreacted. Stay in the car. Hands on the steering wheel. Be a mature adult and talk and act respectfully and calmly. Do not give an officer a reason to believe you are going to react in any other way. You are not entitled to barge out of the car and go try and prove your point.

Here in AZ, you can conceal carry without a permit.... and roughly 50% of the cars on the road have a weapon on board. The LEOs are very used to the idea that there is better than a 50/50 chance the person they pull over is armed. At least most of them have a sense of humor about it.

    Over protected and over served.

I was stopped by the CO St Police for no taillights at night. He was blading as he approached and I showed my empty hands and said, "No gun!' From my side mirror I could see his shoulders drop and a big smile spread across his face. He told me that my taillights were out and asked if I knew. I didn't. He invited me to step out of the car to see for myself and by golly, they were out. Fuse had blown. He asked me to get it fixed tomorrow and I bought a box of fuses and fixed it the next day AND wrote him a thank you letter.

Of course getting stopped for having a tail light out is just the officers pretext, or probable cause to stop, if you thinks you're doing something else like driving while intoxicated. Every time I've ever gotten pulled over for having a tail light out, it's been like 1:30 a.m. or 2:30 a.m. I've never been pulled over at a normal hour for having a tail light out. The officer just wants to stop you legitimately and then check and see what you're doing. So as soon as you says I stopped you for having a tail light out, thank him profusely, say I didn't know and immediately engage him in a pleasant and somewhat sophisticated conversation so he can see that I've not been drinking. Usually all tell him what I am doing out at 2:30 in the morning, having an early flight to the airport or whatever, and tell him I wish he could pull over everybody at 2:30 in the morning cuz half the people I see out here are drunk too. Then everybody nods and goes away. With a warning. Or no warning. Citizens need to let the police the police have the pretext to stop and check you for some more important crime without getting up in their s***.

Those 90’s gm bulb sockets were the fucking worst. I was constantly having “bulbs out”. But i am smarter than to not believe the officer, i would say something like “again?!? I literally fixed that last night after work” and maybe follow it up with “hey, you wanna buy a car? Taillights work sometimes….” Which usually diffuses a situation.

I have had my fair share of dickhead cops, well, many more that fair, and I don’t have a problem with them until they are acting out of line. However, that happens all too often.

In Texas they know that the Registered owner has a ltc / ccw before they get out of thier car.

I show hands and tell them location of gun.

Then I clam up till asked .
Then I evaluate the situation of if I'm getting a police officer or a crazy in uniform.

Have damn sure seen both over the years.

Just like asking to see the radar unit when they say you were speeding. SCOTUS has clearly ruled on that and said you don’t have the right to see it. That said, there’s no reason for the officer to not be able to communicate better in a situation like this.

Funny, the last time I was stopped (and I RARELY get stopped) I did exactly this. The cop approached like he expected me to come out blazing. He actually said I looked nervous, because I had my hands on the wheel with my documents ready.

What legal authority do the police hold? The presidency was attained unconstitutionally therefore illegally. The illegal president appointed an unconstitutional supreme court judge among others judges already spread through the federal court system. Other elections were fraudulent as well. Many state governments were involved and the rest are complicit and acknowledge unconstitutional federal power. Withour representation we have no Republic. By stomping on the Constitution, we have no legal laws.

Show me where these police have legal authority to initiate a traffic stop much less doing what they did. I’m all ears. As far as I’m concerned, police are enforcing unconstitutional and illegal laws. It’s sickening.

    Smells fishy.

I bet there was more going on here not represented in the edited video . Why where 6 cops there? I’d like to see an unedited version of the whole event not the cherry picked video.

I bet he was being a ass, so they beat that ass.

Just like with Rodney King he probably earned his beating. I’ve interacted with police officers multiple times, generally I was in the wrong, be cool be respectful they generally just let you go with a warning.

Act like a prick, they’re paid to be pricks.

Literally this dude got his ass beat because he couldn’t deal with a simple tail light being out without acting in such a way They beat him, think about that😊!
