Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

No, I have zero people ignored. Also there’s a difference between calling someone out on their bullshit and starting some bullshit with a post like “I don’t like you or you’re car...ignore.” If I did that we would be a pot and kettle, but that’s not the case.

I imagined a little kid “hmmmpfing” pouting and crossing their arms reading it though which made me laugh lol. Stop being butt hurt over stupid shit from 25-30 years ago. You don’t be hard pressed to find a winning race team that doesn’t cheat at some point...that’s why they win.

Ummmmm, I'm just gonna point out that 1974 was 48 years ago...
You didn't happen to go to the same high school as me, did you? 😂🤣🤣🤣

I don't know when the shop was caught, but '74 was the only year mentioned, so I had to go with that. 🙂

Oops, I missed the early 90s thingy...
Your math grade has been corrected.

I’ve never met an old racer that didn’t have cheating stories and I've met a bunch. They did it to feed there families who would starve if they didn’t win not just for bragging rights back then Nd most all of them did it. I have family that worked on teams and people like family who built the cars.

Right, wrong, whatever it was 30 years ago....get over it.

I don't grudge race, I just hold grudges.
For life. 😡😡😡😡😡

Some of you guy's have never suffered a real loss... Hendricks would give it all up to get these 10 people back.
When I lived in Charlotte, Ricky Hendrick was in a Rescue Diver course that I was on the teaching team for. His mom or dad brought him to the shop and pool. Both were class acts and down to earth. Ricky got his driver's license toward the end of the course, and he came to the shop in a Z28-LT1, which I later got to drive when we did some dives in Lake Norman.

I can't begin to imagine the pain his mom and dad were in after the plane crash.

Ed Zachary.
Lance Armstrong got caught. The others didn't...
so true, after they stripped lance of his wins the 2nd - 4th places in most of those races had also been tagged with PED in their carrier
so they didnt get the absent trophies either

Thanks to those that got this thing back on track. And I will add, even at BUD/S they tell you, that you will probably have to cheat at some point to make it thru, but God help you if we catch you.
I had a prof tell my class once that its a risk/reward proposition, like running drugs. The profits are great, but so is the risk. The path to any action is to decide your appetite for risk and your morality. From there, the answer will reveal itself. I have used that to reason through people's actions for a good while now. But then there is that large part of the population that don't think, they just do.

I don't care about you or your car you're an associate of known cheaters drug dealers don't care to hear anymore about.
welcome to my ignore list

Fine if you want to ignore. By the time their cheating became known, I'd been out of the shop for 15 years. I certainly did not know about cheating when I did business there. At the time they worked on my car, they hadn't even started the trick nitrous routing cheats. I saw the blocks with the intake and heads off and there was no cheat plumbing back then. Just dinosaurs roaming around the back alley. They were probably doing some other cheat back in those days, but who knows?

I really want to see an Accel dual point distributor run 7000+ RPM.
I will pay $50k CASH for one that is still using points and able to run an engine at 9000 RPM.

Back in the day, when I worked on that shit, every day, all day, the only fix for that shit was to throw out one set of points and run single.
It was either that or swap in a Pertronix magnetic pickup and be done with it.
Yes, I had a SUN distributor blueprinting machine. You put the distributor on it, plug in the wires and vacuum, and spin the distributor to test point bounce, mechanical and vac curves and tweak them for whatever setup's best performance.
I have never seen points run 8k rpm reliably, hell 6k is iffy.

The stock Chevy distributor had known issues, like excessive slop in the main shaft bearings, so dwell drifted badly. Regardless, many 302s and 327s used stock distributors and were able to run over 8K RPM, but they did not provide a stable tune.

The Accel was a huge upgrade at that point in time, given WC's setup and tune. I've used the Sun also. You had to stay on top of distributors and plugs back then. It was a pain in the ass. Why would anyone go through the hassle of running points now when there are easy, reasonably inexpensive, high performance options?

And yes, do not let cheating racer discussions displace the titties!!! Trans Am's were popular for a reason. Bring on the tits! More tits!!!

I missed the 74 part, but saw the 90s post lol

Buddies have given me some short pieces of railroad track over the years. I thought a piece cut, cleaned, and the surface polished would be a cool door prop. The wife just rolled her eyes. But she does use it...

Thank God Karen left the room.....sweet Jesus people get triggered on the dumbest fkn shit anymore.
If you’re talking about me we can go outside and kiss about it. Triggered would infer you’re mad, I just wanted to make fun of him and his 6th grade girl post.

He never did say what team he owned or drove for that got screwed by them did he?

That is a very nice looking door prop. And I would actually think there could be a market for you selling them.

A while back, I posted a shot of similar to this.

The chick on the right... THAT'S how you do a little black dress. This is a screenshot from a video of Pink Floyd's "On the turning away" The Pulse remastered version. So, I scrolling through bookface just now, and her face come up. She has a fan page. Turns out she must be somewhat famous. Rachel Fury. Hell, I was a fan just by that one glance... lol.

I used a short piece of vacuum line as a "damper" to help my dual-point distributors in the day.

Very very nice. Although it does seem to say "I will show your pinky toe what's up and I will do it in the middle of the night."

Even after you asked him directly, he went straight to sticking out his tongue and name calling.

That mentality was taught to a generation instead of sportsmanship. Hows that working out?
The big cheaters were the parents/grandparents of the new morons and those parents/grandchildren taught all the stupid “everyone’s a winner” bullshit that’s lead to today’s kids.

When you raise your kids as assholes, don’t be surprised when the act like assholes

Pretty much everyone in cycling going back as at least as far as Induain (5x winner of TdF '91-'95 for those who don't follow the sport) has been proven to have used PEDs of one kind or another. For the most part it was just race preps and everyone did it. The only winner that I've never seen any evidence against is Greg Lemond, and that was a long time ago.

LA got bitch slapped because he was an jackass and he eventually pissed off some folks who had the backing (i.e., federal investigation) and made it their mission to bring him down. If he had stayed retired after '05 and not come back with Astana in '09 there probably have never been the blow up that eventually happened.

There is a reason what whey they vacated his 7 consecutive wins from '99 to '05 they didn't name anyone else as winner. The highly abridged version is that there wasn't anyone in the top 10 in any of those races with a clean record to declare the winner.

Those days made for some fantastic racing.

The Froome years (thank God he's not top dog anymore) made the most boring racing I've ever seen.
Team does all the work and carried him to the line.
FFS, look back when Porte had him beat and the fucker abandoned his bike. It should have been a DQ.
Nope, can't let the little fragile china doll lose.
Ouch, I hurt my finger, I'll have to abandon. (Translated as, I don't like racing in the mud)
Meanwhile Contador is riding with a broken tibia.

Back in the day, the leaders would stamp their authority over the peloton with breakaways.
