FYI: This is a photo of Yamato class turret armor found in a Japanese shipyard after the war. The Navy shot it near point blank range with the Mark7 16" 50cal (Iowa class main battery) navel ordinance , specifically the 2700lb AP round to see how the AP round performed.

Would not have wanted to have been in that turret.

So, it's safe to say, 16" main battery guns turn cover into concealment!!

Youtube Live: Aircraft carrier flight deck operations:

Much respect to the folks who are working these flight decks making sure everything is running smoothly, and I am talking around 100 things are happening every minute on a flight deck. Those arresting cables are basically gigantic bowstrings being drawn to hundreds of thousands of pounds of tension when a plane lands. If something goes wrong or you are standing where you are not supposed to, you will not even have the time to register what hit you. It would be over in a split second.

Anybody who envisions or want to experience what Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen style interplanetary and interstellar space travel right now can join the US Navy and serve on a carrier.

looks like some flavor of those cheap turkish AR pattern shotguns...

First time I ever heard of 'Tokarev USA' but the reviews are pretty solid on that shotgun. And price tag? I feel warm and content that folks out there who might be struggling financially can get something effective and decisive to protect their families...

Even if it was a 2700 lb round steel ball instead of an AP shell, I don't think anybody'll want to be in that turret when the thing impacts at 2800 FPS... The sheer shock and concussion in that turret would probably turn internal organs inside out and explode eyeballs out of heads... Concussion produces some of the most gruesome and appalling injuries ever seen, up there with high voltage electrocution...
