PGA tour vs LIV tour

Its so strange to see people bash the new LIV Golf tour because of their ties to the evil Saudis but yet become crickets when the NBA sleeps with the Chinese Communist Party.
Exactly!!! And they always bring up kashogi being murdered by MBS. Seriously who gives a fuck? That’s what happens when you talk shit on your own government knowing full well what they do to people that do that. Secondly if the PGA paid their members better, they wouldn’t have players “defecting” to LIV. players that don’t make the cut are losing money, so I don’t blame them for playing on a tour that has guaranteed money.

The whole 'sport washing' argument is fucking dumb.

Especially given that our administration now has to cowtow to the MBS and the Saudi regime, because Russian oil (which makes up a good percentage of the oil market) is banned in many places. So our government has to work hand in hand and kiss MBS's ass to get oil prices lower. We'll probably do that by committing to send more arms to Saudi, so they can continue bombing the shit out of Yemen, the world's largest humanitarian crisis.

To pretend that golfers joining this new golf league makes any difference in the world is a fucking joke. It's just a distraction from the real fuckery going on all around the world, and this 'sport washing' argument is so insulting because it's incredibly stupid. Who cares.

I feel the same way about Basketball. Quite possibly the dumbest game ever invented.
I have a tiny soft spot for basketball, I grew up in IL in the 90’s. Unfortunately, the Jordan years were the zenith for the nba and it’s been a downward spiral since then

We're almost a full generation out from the Sept 11th attacks. One more generation of deflection and obfuscation, and the Saudis will have likely been successful in getting away with the whole thing.

I’m definitely not trying to absolve the house of Saud but they aren’t the only bad actors in this situation. Plenty of other people need to be held accountable as well

Sure - let's hold those others accountable. This debacle cost us somewhere north of 10,000 American lives and several trillion dollars, not to mention the several hundred thousand civilians on the other side of the world who died as a result of the West's inability to prosecute the actual guilty parties.

It's a kingdom. They have a fucking king. It's not a republic with rights and rule of law. It's a place where one man IS the law, and that system has proven to be the most stable and most enduring in human history. What part of that don't people understand? When someone is motherfucking the king and bad mouthing the country they get eliminated, and it is perfectly legal (within the kingdom).

Guess what, a guy I know is really good friends with Prince Albert the king (prince, as it's a principality) of Monaco. That is also just as much a police state as Saudi Arabia, they just aren't so stupid as to eliminate threats and dissidents on foreign soil. The whole Keshogi thing was bush league, and that's about the extent of it.

Being shocked that a kingdom doesn't tolerate dissent just shows what an ignorant, woke, fuck some people are. This is the real world. The Saudis suck, but they suck a hell of a lot less than the Iranians. In Saudi you would get killed for anti-American demonstrations. In Iran you will be killed for not participating enthusiastically enough... There is nothing to think about. We should ally with the Saudis, period.

I'm less concerned about what they did to a dissident and much more concerned with the fact that they funded a terrorist attack on US soil for the purpose of provoking us into attacking their enemy.

When you said sport wash, I was wondering why you had something against smelling nice after a shower?

We literally have enough evidence to prove that a group of people actually stole the US election. I'm less worried about the Saudis these days.
