Looks like they make some of that no-bean chili too

Since nukular war seems imminent, and there may be a mad scramble for the last scraps of food in your local Piggly Wiggly, let's open up the thread to other quickly prepared and energy dense survival foods.

Case in point, the Jimmy Dean microwavable sausage egg hockey pucks. Looks delish.

And what executive would not look at this and shorten the date by a couple years. I mean, if you have to put a date on make it a short one so that people have to toss the old and buy new.

So do we really know the shelf life?

Not specifically tested 'soups' .. and EXP.Date, lasts much longer than labeled . you can ' Survive ' eating it.
I got born with an Iron Gut, and can push myself, so I tested one of the WORST canned food items you can try keeping for storage ( jar/canned Spaghetti Sauce ) . Spag. sauce is one of the worst because of the oil content.

Early this year I found a old jar of Newman's Own 'Socarooni' ( is my favorite...LOL ) in pile of canned goods, was 2015 exp. date . so 7 years past Exp. date . The pop-lid was still good on vacuum But.. It was really noticeably 'dark Brown' darker than the fresh jars I had up in my cabinet . The wife knows me. stared at me shaking her head and just walked away . I stared at it, thought about it for a good few minute before the decision, then Opened It . smell was a little weird, definitely some decay going on there, but not enough to throw up a Big warning . So I poured in a pan, brought to light boil, and dumped some on my pasta to eat .

Eating it, color, smell and Taste was 'off ' but I killed the whole bowl a pasta and the old brown 'Sockarooni' . felt OK rest of the evening, then went to bed . Next day woke up and I felt shitty and dragging ass with a slight headache, but No puking or diarrhea .
So FYI.. the Newman's Sockarooni was all GTG if you 'Absolutely NEED' to survive on old Exp. canned goods, and is way better than eating Dog Food .

Dried dogfood really isnt all that bad. I think we all ate in in your kid years. It'll for damn sure cause you to run through your toilet paper supply though.
