Milankovtich cycles, Albedo, asteroids and volcanic eruptions are the biggest drivers of climate change. All things we can't control. We have the tools to make the Earth warmer if it freezes. We do not have tools to make the Earth colder except for global thermonuclear war. Milankovitch cycles take 100,000 years.
Average temperatures can vary as much as 8 degrees celsius during a Milankovtich cycle. A drop in 6 degrees celsius will cause a glacial period. Currently we are warming the planet at a rate of 20 degrees Celsius per 1000 years and the rate is increasing. At the current rate by the time we reach the coldest part of this Milankovitch cycle we will have increased the temperature 1000 degrees celsius.
