November 22nd, 1964. The day JFK finally got it through his head we didn't want him in Dallas.
ohh, that is rough....but accurate.

What so many people don't know/remember/choose to remember is JFK was in the middle of a battle to to stay at the top of his party....Democrat just incase some don't remember. He was not loved by all like some think he was.....a great many things he did people did not like, not unlike every other Pres. It was only after did he become Saint JFK....and all things bad about the man are pushed to the side. From the mob to other women the guy, and I say family was pretty darn dirty.

Having a clone of that rifle, I can only say that is one hell of a shot(s)

Best pic I have of the over all rifle....it came out of a museum that folded, I had to source a new firing pin is all.

Other thing I will say is the rifle (we are a gun forum after all, and our main interests lie in "sniper" type rifles) that in using this example it is far different from every other Carcano I have (4) it is so much tighter, smoother, just better in every way. In shooting them best I can do with my hand loads is minute of softball at 100 yards. The rifles are not "junky" or "garbage". Most of the mis matched examples you see out there are rode hard and put away wet. I have the same thought about the Westinghouse Mosin I have, much tighter then any other mosin I have. It is like a different rifle.

Yes, his family was the Irish Mob. There's the story about seeing his father, Joe Kennedy, hand Sammy Giancana a suitcase with a million cash to swing Chicago. But he did have a vision for America, his vision took us to the moon, and his murder was the true beginning of the end of our way of life and the power grab of the MIC.

...or 1963, IIRC the cheap scope was on an offset mount and iron sights were supposedly used.
Two very good hits on a moving target, didn't look like a given. Could have been the perfect setup, anyone involved is dead.

"his vision took us to the moon" ...... aka Vegas Desert ...... Still a long trip from Cape Canaveral though......

I am showing my age by writing this. My parents took me to a Kennedy campaign rally in 1960 at the Patterson Armory. Don't remember much except I was there. Remember sitting in 3rd grade class when the nuns came in crying telling us he had been assassinated and November 22nd has forever been burned into my memory . Daily routines basically came to a standstill as people parked in front of their B&W TV sets watching the four day funeral event. We will probably never know exactly what happened since as mentioned above most if not all of the players are dead. Do I believe Oswald was a lone wolf assassin? No I do not and all too convenient for Oswald to be killed by Ruby who was terminally ill and had mob ties. There is also speculation Tippet was sent to dispatch Oswald but worked out the other way.

Anyone else buy the U.S. Historical Mint Commemorative Kennedy Carcano when they had the for sale a few years ago?

Rich bluing, gold plated furniture, high-grade polished stock and commemorative medal inlet into the stock. Just 4 payments of $299 each. And got a display case, too!

Bush wasn't director until the mid-'70's after the Church Committee Hearings. And before that disaster Stansfield Turner... that Carter appointed.

McCone was director in the '60's... though there was bad blood between the agency and the Kennedy's when the brothers vowed to 'smash the agency' and Dulles after Bay of Pigs fiasco.

Bush is a lot of things... not many of them good. But he wasn't director then.

You arent that old, youngster, I was in the 10th grade when he was murdered. But I agree, there was more than one shooter, his head went UP AND BACK, it was likely a John McCone CIA sanctioned Mob hit out of New Orleans by the Carlos Marcella org, and Lee Harvey was a patsy. (How's that for a run on sentence)

That was the beginning of the end for our Republic.

This.

I figure McCone sanctioned the hit, one of Carlos Marcella's crime family pulled the triggers, and J Edgar looked the other way. LBJ was either complicit or told to keep his mouth shut...likely complicit.

For all those who want to look at the Bush family background... Schweitzer and Loftus have a couple of books. And there is a lecture on the subject on YouTube that I can't find. But it is worth listening to.

Lots of things those 'Skull and Bones' boys got up to.

My problem with the conspiracy theories involving the USG is that... things always leak out. Someone, somewhere, somehow... That said, the early 1960's Dulles Agency was more freewheeling OSS than modern bureaucracy. So far more... stuff... was possible. And could have disappeared. But until someone comes up with the shovel... I don't believe the official account... or any of the theories.

I'll just have to settle for knowing for sure.... who shot JR.

Cheers,

Sirhr

If I recall Rockefeller and Standard Oil was right there with them. Part of the difference is that information moves so much more rapidly now. Fart to loud in wally World and its on twitter in 9 minutes. If it was a hell of a fart you might make the tonight show.

Ford retained ownership of all its plants in Nazi Germany... and the plants used slave labor. Ford even claimed damages from the USG after the war for what happened to their plants during bombing raids. I believe that the 'response' from the USG was that if Ford wanted to claim damages, then they could also be liable to Holocaust Survivors... who were worked to death in the plants.

Ford was very generous in 2000, however. They donated $11 to each of 1.2 million Holocaust survivors at the time. Allowing the Holocaust survivors to... go to a movie. Matinee ticket prices only.

I'm too lazy to look this up myself so I'll rely on you boomers instead. Was it Eisenhower or JFK who came up with a plan to use an exploding cigar to assassinate Fidel Castro?

A whole series of plots were 'considered' under Eisenhower and then Kennedys (who loved James Bond and 'light touch' special operation stuff.) Not sure exactly the timeline, but they were a centerpiece of the Church Committee Hearings in the mid-'70's.

They included the exploding cigar, getting him high on LSD before making a speech, putting depiliatory creme on a seashell so his hair would fall out (and the Cubans would depose him because he looked silly), Poisoning by a hot chick... poisoned diving suit... they came up with some winners. None of which were ever really tried very hard.

Cheers,

You might be surprise. In those days Cuba was tight with the Soviet Union and had lots of training and weapons. Hardened troops from the revolution, they knew their ground, the landing force might have been handed their ass's.

Try running it with the fore end sand bagged, left handed/eye, right hand running the bolt. The speed is there.

A few years ago I went nutz on Oswald, and if you dive into the guy you will come away thinking this guy is the perfect "patsy".

I also think the soviets had something to do with it. Nothing else makes any sense. At that time people just did not up and leave the USSR. And IIRC Malina (his russian wife) was something like a daughter to a fairly high ranking soviet official.....her being with an american was just not done, her leaving the country with an american after he defected just did not happen, and then getting back into the US after all that, just did not happen.

Add to that this guy was a total loser nothing he ever did came to anything up to the point he pulled that trigger. And he grabbed a very HOT Russian girl that is related to a soviet mover and shaker.....no way in the world you can tell me it was not all a setup.

And even in frumpy 1960's era soviet clothes you can tell this girl is a hottie. And that rat faced loner Oswald reeled this catch in, no way in hell.

Why yes Merle they are, they sure are, and I am sure you would agree as well if you where still alive.

People forget life before the gun changes started, many point to this event that got things really rolling, and I have little doubt it played a large part, for no other reason than it hit the country so hard. It was on all the time like the other poster talked about with the TV coverage. And TV was not like it is not, you got 4 stations if you are lucky at best. I also Charles Whitman just a couple years later also helped push start what we now see as "gun control". And down hill from there getting stricter and stricter while the "mass killings" are getting more and more often.

How many of you would do something, have it not work, try harder it still not work, try harder again, still not work.....and keep going before you go.....I think a hammer is not going to take this bolt off and you look for other solutions.

Like most things it started for some very good reasons, but it was taken over by wacko's with agendas totally different from what the original idea was.

Don't forget GM as well, they actually pulled strings to keep their plants off the target list.

Opel was a huge supplier to the german war machine....and owned by GM, both in Germany and France plants off the target list.

No one had their hands clean.

I'll disagree only to say that "The day the country died" was when this Ivy League weenie swore an oath that he immediately ignored while destroying everything he touched. Even after his stroke, his wife and minions Fetterman'd America.

We have never fully-recovered.

He did almost serve out his entire term, but I think TR took the country in a different direction. I see TR being at the helm of the US when we really changed from a "little country" to a player in world politics.....for better or worse it was going to happen, the US is just too darn big and too rich for it not to....but on the other hand you can say the same thing about russia.

I don't have a real good grip on his politics (McKinley) to really comment much more.....you might have lit another fire under my brain, and now I am wanting to dig into his views and where he thought the country should be. It was not that long after the civil war only ~30 years....that is not a long time.

I remember seeing a photo of Lincoln in the horse drawn hearse passing down a town, in that photo you see a person leaning out a window looking at it pass by, that person is Teddy Roosevelt.

When you think really how close all these big events are together it is really interesting.

E.M. House was the real power behind the throne in that administration.

The original idea all the way back to FDR and the NFA was disarmament. Look at his minions. It wasn’t a “good idea”’gone wrong. It was a long term plan. And one preached and predicted in every totalitarian state in history.

Commoners in Japan could be executed for having a weapon. Serfs were only “issued” pikes when needed. Why do all the Frankenstein movies have the townspeople carrying pitchforks, not caplocks…

The escalation is merely the far left not caring if you know their plans any more. Because they think they have won…

Theodore Rex is excellent book. There is another biography that came out at the same time that is very similar. As are several books by my friend Ted Kohn, a great writer and Roosevelt scholar.

He is an interesting guy. Progressive in some ways but very pro-American conservativie in others. IMHO the right man for the time. And as much as I am a laissez -faire capitalist, the 1890’s were out of control and not good for America.

I thought it was McKinley in the photo, and TR would be the VP......sorry my mistake.

But yea Wilson was a disaster we are still feeling the effects of today, he did push that little snowball down the hill IMHO.

I still want to learn more about Mckinley however, your post made me think.....you know I don't know much about that guy.

The critical difference being :

America = Freemen

Russia = Serfs become slaves

Some russians as well as quite a few other nationalities including the US fought to keep it from becoming slaves. There was a time when that could have been turned without much more effort then they provided. Coming out of a world war most are tired and want "normal" back. There was no taste to push the issue by the west.

But some Russians as well as several others including "new" nations fought very hard against the slave thing.

There was also this thing about Kennedy not liking the government having to borrow money from the Federal Reserve (private bank) and suggesting the Treasury Department could simply make money instead and kick the Federal Reserve to the curb...

See I don't know where the original seed was planted. Was it planted as a wow these gangster guys are shooting up the place with cut down BAR rifles and tommy guns, and it was seen as a way to go after them. I think Capone went away in 31-32, for taxes.....not related to any of the really "bad" things he did if you catch my meaning. I have little doubt at the time when the idea of going after him for taxes was laughed at......I can see someone in the room saying.....this guy is a cold blooded murder crazy.....and you want to go after him for something as silly as taxes, yea sure, and if we get him we can put him away for the rest of his life if we play it right.....ok you go have fun with that, we will go after this guy the normal way.

So was the 1934 deal first floated as another thing that could be used to go after these bad guys with a really hard hitting behind bars time sentence. Lets see you have 10 "machine guns" you did not pay your tax on, that will put you in jail for 100 years kind of thing?

I don't know, and I doubt we will ever know. I do believe it is highly possible it started that way......and I would say that is a good idea, Then yes I agree with you that it was soon "used" by FDR (not a fan at all) as a means of control, just like what he did with gold....all control.

He was really a horrid Pres on about every level, if it was not for WWII history would have painted him in a very different light, more along the lines of Johnson I think....so many things FDR gets credit for had nothing to do with him. It is not called the Hoover damn because it was a FDR back to work project.
