I’m putting together my AR10 build and I have a pretty thick contour Proof research barrel and the Wilson combat gas tube is touching the barrel. Will this affect barrel harmonics? Thanks in advance!

Also, that type of nut usually helps with alignment, but it's a lot easier to check and adjust the tube fit into the gas key before you get much further.

Hey thanks I appreciate that a lot I was able to bend it up a little bit and it looks like there is a sliver of room now
Just make sure to check gas key clearance after bending. Sometimes it takes multiple bends to get things just right.

I had that issue back in the day on some varmint barrels with .750 gas block journal. it's because you're using a low profile gas block, Proof barrels utilizes a M110 Contour.

Once I started using adjustable gas blocks I never had that issue again due to the fact they are generally taller. Just be cautious when "bending" gas tubes, basically if the gas tube is binding inside the gas key of your BCG you no longer have a free floating barrel.
