Another vote for AR50. I had a lot of fun with mine and it shot well with the AMAX's.
Of course the various flavored ammo was fun too.

personally? Sero GM6 Lynx

Semiauto, reasonably accurate, compact, and recoil is controlled enough to legitimately be fired from the shoulder.

I would look at:
AI AX ELR
Cadex Tremor
Barrett M99
Armalite AR50
McMillian/McBros 50
DT HTI .50
Victrix Corvo
Steyr HS 50
Barrett 82A1

Order I would pick:
AI
Cadex or DT HTI (I like the ability to run other calibers easily with the HTI)
Armalite they shoot good, are solid platforms at a very reasonable price.
Victrix (only because I am not tracking a current distributor in the US so there isn't much for reviews, background here and no support).

Barrett 99 would allow a optic upgrade.what scope would handle the recoil? You know how the mystical shock wave power is enough to kill anything just being close by.

The AI or the Cadex would be my choice they are the easiest to get replacement barrels.
The Cadex with the 32 in barrel and good optic will get you under 13k

Cantilever mounts hard on scopes FYI. Ask the scar 17 owners
that's more the scar 17 having a huge reciprocating mass relative to overall mass with a hard acceleration and a short stop. it eats shit even without cantilever scope mounts being involved.

doesn't make it a bad rifle necessarily, just something all SCAR owners/users need to be wary of

Cadex Tremor
CheyTac Intervention
EDM Windrunner
Noreen ULR
Barrett M82/107
Browning M2 on a bed mounted turret 😏

I have shot the AI-ELR Great rifle and with the ability of the quick change barrel and 375 bolt it really gives you the ability to multi caliber's so you not just locked into shooting 50 BMG. You can shoot any of the 416's or 460 Steyr then change the bolt and shoot 375ct or 408ct.

EDM is nice but the owner passed. I am not so sure how the support is for his systems anymore.

I think the big options are the,
AI ELR- able to swap calibers
Cadex
DT HTI- able to swap calibers
Victrix
McBros

I wonder was it just back then that they did that? Because they are for sale in the US now.

does this mean the chey tac bolts are available now for the AX50 ELR?
Ive been waiting a while on this...

Have you had a chance to use the Victrix Corvo? Currently on their website they are promoting it as “No recoil”. No idea how they are accomplishing that with a 29LB rifle.

The nicest .50 I've ever owned is still the Cadex tremor.
More accurate and much nicer than either of the McMillan's that I sold.
What didn’t you like about the TAC 50s besides the accuracy issues? Who made the barrels for the ones you owned?

Just curious, looking into a new .50.

I wish, I like their rifles. I would like to buy one but with the cost probably won't happen anytime soon.

I’ve had four of them. BARRETT is fun for plinking or end of the world I suppose but accuracy sucks and those who disagree are liars or fools.

The McMillan I had 10 or 15 years ago rattled itself loose with every shot and kicked like an angry mule. They knew that and that’s why they made that stupid hydraulic system which has got to be one of the dumbest inventions I’ve ever seen even though it never made it to market as far as I know. One good thing about the Macmillan was the ability to run a joule trigger with bottom safety.

An ArmaLite AR 50 is the best value out there and the break is the best 50 CAL break on the market bar none. If you can find one. Which you should and put it on just about any 50 you get besides the Barrett. Only comparable option is the K&P brake. To get a decent trigger you’ll have to have a gunsmith work on it.

I have not shot an AI, but it kicks like an angry mule too, I am told. however, that could be changed by replacing the muzzle device. That’s a lot of money for a rifle however, that doesn’t do anything better, and does some things worse than my top pic.

I sold my Barrett and my TAC- 50 when I got a hold of a Desert Tech HTI after shooting one in the Utah desert with a Desert Tech employee 10 years ago. i’m running a 40 inch Lilje barrel and an AR 50 brake and I bet I’m still shorter than an accuracy international with 12 inches less dick meaning another 150 ft./s nominally at the same length. It is truly a one hole gun and I mean again and again with four and five shot groups. None of this cherry picked three shot noncents. The ability to easily change barrels to 375 cheytac and have a different profile barrel spun up and ready to be inserted is superb. You can be into a second barrel for about 500 for the blank 500 for gunsmithing and 500 in the extension. Since you’re not going to be shooting the 50 a lot anyway, you might as well have some versatility with it so you can shoot 375, shoot from fixed position or potentially even carry around with you with a lighter weight 29 inch barrel like the factory DT offering. And the base rifle can be had for half an AI. Trigger is pretty awesome if you get it adjusted properly.

Other than the rifles I mentioned above (including AI), and the Cadex (which sports a 29” Bartlein and is $10k) I haven’t seen anything else in this thread that is even worth considering for a 50 BMG. Wind runner is 30 years outdated. BushHamster? Not for the money. Serbu, there is no point get an ARMALITTE or a Barrett. Cheytac are a bunch of clowns and nobody’s gonna buy the intervention rifle if you ever try to resell it. For me at least, resale is important even though I admit I took quite a bit on the Barrett and the TAC-50.

If you are still looking for a BMG, I recently listed my BA50 on Snipershide...

Just search for Bushmaster BA50

OP - Well, did you ever get anything??

I'm also a proponent of the BA50. I had an Armalite AR50 in the past but much prefer having a magazine to keep chewing from.

Not the OP but if you know anyone looking for a BA50, I listed mine a few days ago.

Age catching up with me and i am building some new guns a little easier to manager. Love my BA50 but i promised my wife that i would let it go to help finance my new builds.

Lots of reloading stuff for the BMG as well including ammo, dies, primers, etc
