That hood looks like the one that we practiced of for dealing with an engine fire. Shove a Halligan Tool in the gap between the hood and fender and create a tent like opening. Then shove the nozzle of an 1-1/2” hose in and flood the sumbitch. Seeing that gives me the heebee jeebee’s on the condition.
I bet someone is pissed that some yuck pulled that hood down from the corner right before it rolled up to the auction block

My wife attended exactly one wives meeting. One of the herd stated that she was the senior wife of the Navy Wives. My wife, ever so politely as a Southern Lady, put down her cookie and went home. They called her a few days later and asked why she wasn't participating in Navy Wife activities. She explained that I was in the Navy, not her. It helped that we were able to live in her home town for the remainder of my hitch.
At the commissary on Kadena you got in line and waited for the next cashier. Once saw a lady bypass the line and head for a cashier. The first person in line called her out and she responded, "I'm Col Cakeeater's wife." The young lady replied, "I'm SSgt Iworkforaliving and the line starts back there. " People applauded and the Colonel-by-marriage left.
They sure look different than I remember.
