My Cinnamon Chow never barked, she was seriously laid back, neither did my exes cat. My Chocolate Lab (Wilbur) was trained to run to me, or another household member, when someone was at the door, I would almost always (except female visitors) give the "who's there" command and then he would charge the door doing his best badass impression. Hair on back standing tall and tail wagging full speed. I pretty much know someone was there well before a knock at the door. Outdoors he would heel and play badass on the same command, it was never trained but my daughter said "watch this". He ran to her left side and went guard dog crazy. Came in handy sometimes.

I think not getting the beating I probably deserved was more surprising than actually setting the thing off.

Good point . Interesting choice of tire for that bike, especially for road use.
He was in some movie. I think it was called soft metal codes, or some crap like that.
I prefer to live somewhere I don't have to lock my doors. We didn't even have a key to the house until we replaced the front door mechanism because it was worn out.

In 1978 the local McDonald's had "Candle Light Night" on Thursdays. Take a date, lights were off and candles on every table. Good times.
Haven't thought about that in years. However, I do think about Polly a bit more often.
