They need another Alfred The Great or Harold Godwinson to put all of the woke leftist shit to flame and sword. Not much different than the Pledge of Allegience. It's part of the tradition of the English Monarchy and replaces the homage of the nobles (peers). In effect elevating all people to the status of nobility (yes the irony of being elevated status so you can pledge loyalty)

As a fan of the Brits in general... but not wanting to be one myself... what they do with their allegiences is none of my business. But they have 1000+ years of tradition and pledging fealty to a King is their version of our Pledge of Allegiance. If they want to do it, great. And for Brits who don't want to do it... I doubt anyone cares there or here.

I, for one, will be watching the coronation this weekend. If I wasn't so busy, I'd go. My old man went to Elizabeth's coronation. My grandfather went to her father's coronation. I still have the 'swag' they brought back. I'll make an effort to see William crowned in person. Hopefully soon. Maybe Charles will catch Hoof and Mouth from his consort.

That said, I will swear an oath to nothing other than a Constitution... an idea that we don't need kings or queens and that all men (and broads) are, in America, allowed to rise as far and fast as their talent will take them.

But if you want to swear to Chuck... or bang a gong and burn incense to Buddah or kneel towards Mecca... you do you. I'll do me.

However know this and know this clearly... your rights end where mine begin. So the minute your gong-banging or devil-worshipping or eco-fruit behavior infringe on my pursuit of happiness, I'll have no qualms about ending you.

Anyone who has swore an oath to the constitution has done the same. Instead of foolishly swearing allegiance to one ruler, they foolishly swear allegiance to many. Same difference at the end of the day. The pledge of Allegiance is similar as well as already stated.
