I live a hour from there. Have stayed at the hotel were the picture was taken from. Cannery pier hotel.
Every now and then, this scene needs to be replayed to remind us of a time when real comedians walked the earth.
I got pretty good at notching and felling trees at one time, but I’d never try this. I’d have spent all day roping it down. I watched my brother do this with a 60’ Pin Oak, though. Walked out and laid his hat in the yard between the telephone pole and detached garage. He said that’s where the crown will hit. It was about 2 feet off! True story.
Me thinks that would be like shooting mice with a Barrett.

I think you're right. After blowing it up a bit I believe the one on the left in the pic is an 8. I called the Supt. that was on that part of the job and he thought we had an 8 on that hill as well. Good eye! Unless I got something else wrong as well??
