Pre-smart phone era, vhs porn tapes and magazines, dildos that would make a whore scream. Some truly nasty shit and disgusting conditions overall.

That would actually probably be more biologically correct as if you were a half mammal / half fish that spent all your time underwater, you would, like most sea creatures, have a whole bunch of fat on you to keep you from getting cold and freezing in the deep water.
