In honor of bad dad jokes everywhere.

My son told people that growing up with me as a dad was harder then Air Force Boot Camp.

His big sister punked the Air Force guy giving the brief.

HA. My dad did a stint as an instructor at Fort Jackson after Korea. Told him I was enlisting in the army. "Hell no you ain't." Okay, Marines. "Nope. Navy or AF." He didn't have an especially fun tour in Korea. Slept with his eyes open.

Went to see the Navy recruiter and the door was locked. AF SSgt next door said, "Hey, come on in. He'll probably be back soon."

Last stop on the Power Tour

The front lot was full also.
The 1st power tour came through Goodland KS but wasn't planning on stopping. I was going to tech school up there and got my instructors to help me get ahold of Drew Harding at Hot Rod. We offered up the tech school (so they could work on their rides if need be). Best friend and I went along with them to Salina KS in his 55 Chevy. Fantastic time.

Forced out of the house by our parents and told to not come home until the street lights came on. Riding our bikes miles away from home, making up games, learning to be independent, getting in fights and settling squabbles amongst ourselves, dealing with there being winners and losers.. Dealing with minor injuries ourselves

I told my older boy if the draft comes back, AF is the way to go before the infantry gets him. His little brother would probably ignore me and jump at the guns, mud, and blood crew though. Dammit, why can’t he be smart, like his mother?
