Considering what the company is calling for, it does not seem too unreasonable for us to expect it to step up, be the first to give the land back, and presumably return to Europe.

I could not agree more. No one living today had thing one to do with it. There are some things in the past that I think are just flat wrong, the Indian right to vote for example.
The Snyder Act of 1924 admitted Native Americans born in the U.S. to full U.S. citizenship. Though the Fifteenth Amendment, passed in 1870, granted all U.S. citizens the right to vote regardless of race, it wasn't until the Snyder Act that Native Americans could enjoy the rights granted by this amendment.
But again who is around that was an adult before 1924? No one. There was an issue, it was corrected lets move on. No need to look back and whine over all the years when they did not have the right to vote. On a side note:

Others think the indian new this, and getting "new blood" in was one reason people got taken as war prizes, both male and female, with children under the age of puberty being a big target. This is why Cynthia parker was taken at such a young age, same with Olive Oatman. Both "rescued" and both not real happy about it. What cynthia did after being "rescued" is straight out of a horror movie. She was of a totally different culture. These kids taken from about 4 to 15 roughly, old enough to "be on their own" but still young enough to be "useful". The older people are always killed and the babies killed, you know the older will be nothing but trouble, same with a baby.
