A few weeks ago a couple friends and I were shooting steel at a privately owned range.
I don’t like to brag, but yes, I’m deadly with a rifle like a lot of folks probably are on this esteemed forum.
I’ve never seen combat but one of my friends has. However, his fights were about 200-300 meters. So the long range precision rifle fire was fascinating for him.
Anyway, I went prone and put 20 out of 20 rounds out of my scoped AR-15 on a steel head silhouette at 600 yards in about 30-40 seconds. Not bragging but that’s the norm for a lot of us.
I share this because, after that shooting demonstration, my friend had the quote of the day!

It’s good to have the skills but at minimum you have to be the 10 in 100 preferably the 1 in 100
I've killed some deer with the bow, lots with handgun and muzzle loader. Now that I've answered your questions, please do me the courtesy of answering mine. Why do you ask?
I didn't imply that I could do the same when someone is shooting back.
Lest anyone think I may lack some sort of resolve in an SHTF scenario, nobody can say how they will react until the time comes.
However, I lived a very violent childhood. Lots and lots of fights till I was out of high school except for a few altercations after becoming an adult and won. So I have handled myself under stress. I'll leave it at that.
I don't make assumptions about anyone else and to be fair, nor should anyone make assumptions about me.
To those of you who have been on a two-way firing range, your experience is very much appreciated.
To those that have never been in hand-to-hand combat they should appreciate my experiences like I do those who have experienced incoming rounds.
With that said, the average hood-rat probably would not want to be in a gunfight with someone like many of us on this forum, me included.
