The pilot ejected from the F-35, was recovered and taken to the hospital. Most planes don’t fly a long way after an ejection. They likely knew the general area of the crash but were looking for debris for confirmation. Sensitive technology and all.
They are saying the wreckage/ debris was found 2 hrs northeast of Charleston. If they’re talking jet flying time that’s well outside of land based radar coverage, stealthy or not.
