I don't know about you guys, but I want the legs on the mini tripod to be at 12, 4, and 8 when its tight I couldn't get it to "time" like that so I used a 5/8L flat faucet washer from the hardware store and it works great......I know 3rd world problems, but my OCD gets the best of me.

Lol I lucked out. Mine times no issues.

If you really want something sturdier, that will sit wider and lower. I found the knockoff of the knockoff.

Just ordered one. In stock. 👍🏼

I’m excited to compare it to my Bulletseeker Mach 4.

Anyone know how well the Garmin does with suppressed shots? Does it have finicky issues with suppressed shooting? Suppressed .22LR with subs?
Shot mine suppressed with cci subsonic and not a missed shot. Mounted on the area 419 ram

Magnetospeed's retail is around $450 and the reliability is very good. Labradar is $600 or more and far less reliable, but the trade off was not barrel mounted/impacts POI so people lived with the reliability issues.

Both are going to have to be sub $400 to compete with something that is less than $200 more expensive than magneto that has all of the pros of both and non of the cons. And unless they were getting a ridiculous margin.....they are going to have to figure out a way to cut their supply costs.

The Garmin is seriously bad news for those two products as they are currently configured.
Many times you can find magneto for as low as 350 however even on sale you really should be getting with grayops or wiser mounts and by the time I paid for all the wiser stuff plus chrono I was at like 700

Yea, a decent chrono setup is going to cost $700 almost no matter how you split it (if you're buying new).

And honestly, there really isn't much of a reason not to get a Garmin now. There were still POI shifts with things like gray ops and wiser mounts for magneto.....unless you moved it further away and turned the sensitivity way up (Ala David Tubb). But if you used the bar as prescribed by the manufacturer.......you would still see some POI changes on many rifles.

I’ve been following the thread and will inevitably more than likely end up owning a Xero sooner or later…

That said, for me it’s just a tool, so I’ve got to admit that I’m surprised by all the excitement surrounding it. I don’t quite get it honestly?

I hated my Labradar… and getting rid of it and going to an old school ~$150 ProChronoDLX has worked out great for me. The old school chrono was/is a huge upgrade as far as less dicking around is concerned, and the only real drawback has been having to wait for the range to go cold before setting it out there.

I took the ProChronoDLX out the the day before the Xero was released and… decided I could wait. If all one needs is something to measure MV and SD/ES, and are ok with and/or allowed to go down range for setup, old school is still good enough IMO.

If/when I get one it will have more to do with laziness (no setup) more so than anything else.

Still using a 30 year old Ohler, but will be getting the Garmin fairly soon. Primarily for the ease of use and removing the need to shut down the range for setup and adjustments.

Exactly.

It sure seems like the better mousetrap we’ve always wanted as far ease-of-use/no setup.

But if you’re a guy like me who only needs to send no more than 10-20 rounds over a chrono every now and again… I’m lazy, just not $600 lazy yet I guess. 😂

Yeah not worth the effort to me lol. Buy, wait for arrival, post ads, box 'em up, ship 'em out, pay fees, etc. Why bother for $50????

$50 isn't worth the time, but would it be worth it for an extra $600+?

WTF is wrong with people paying 2x+ MSRP for a damn chronograph... Another shipment is inbound in 2 weeks. It's not like you can't live without one or use your existing chronograph for another few weeks, lol

The eBay stupidity makes me think I should have gone to Bass Pro after work last week and bought all their stock and put them on eBay... but I'd feel like an ass doing that (granted, an ass that would have got others to finance his own Garmin...)

The thing I like most about it, is once it's on and I have made the inputs and set it down. I can, and did forget about it. It picked up all 25 shots, and I shot at multiple targets. There was no aiming the chronograph, no attachment and verification it's picking up shots. It just does what it's designed to do, and it does it without trying. I just set the thing down and said good enough. It's exactly what I been looking for, and why I put off buying one for the past two years.

I would fuck not do pay double of the item, you can have normal price soon.

Exactly, but the stupidity isn't over yet... there's another one listed right now with bidding currently at $1025 with 2 hours to go.

I guess someone really, really, really needs their velocity and SD ASAP, lol

Or maybe people are just messing with the scalpers by bidding their auctions to the moon and then not paying.
