Yup. Like I said, "Lawyers" and "Feds." The murder of
Carol Bowne is a perfect example of the problem.
That said, there are some pockets of NJ where LE is quite "pro-gun" and supportive. And, as it happens, I lived in one of those pockets. Mostly, they are in the Northwest parts of NJ (Warren/Sussex/Hunterdon. Western Morris counties) and a few down shore. I lived in Warren County for over 25 years. And my municipal CLEO was fantastic and encouraging. He would always "officially" claim the standard "30 day turnaround" for the paperwork. But my initial FPID and set of P2Ps took only 23 of those 30 days. And that's even including the trip through the "County Adjuster's office for the Mental health check, and the NJSP fingerprinting. After that, anytime I needed a new set of P2Ps, it would be only 2 weeks to turn around.
I think the closer you get to the inner cities in NJ (Newark, Camden, New Brunswick, Patterson, etc. ) the more "anti-gun" it gets.
