Obviously whoever wrote this has never dealt with an HOA. The HOA will just fine you until it's removed then sue you for not paying their fines. If you're lucky they might not foreclose on your property... yes the can do that.

Joke didn't go over my head; I laughed, but my loathing for HOAs runs deep.

My HOA said I had an abandoned vehicle in my driveway - because they never saw it leave it's spot. WTF? But after doing a high-gear burnout with it in the HOA president's driveway - it gave them something else to bitch about.

That fucker moved away, and I'm still here.

They won’t own a gun. They’ll just preach about gun control and pass anti-gun laws at the state and federal level. Some will become talk show hosts.
Not sure what is going on in your area, but the mix of people at the range has changed dramatically in South Florida. I've seen Orthodox Jews, LBGT and many that I would have consider a unicorn at the range ten years ago. This includes a lot of the "they" I think you are talking about.

It should have never made it to a grand jury in TX if lethal force is legal to protect property there.
Just like the rest of America, many Texas big cities are infested with demonrats. And the big city, then infests the county with demonrats. Travis County/ Austin, Dallas County/ Dallas, Harris County/ Houston, Bexar County/ San Antonio.

The same incident happens in most of the other 250 counties, and law enforcement would probably shake the shooters hand, get a statement, and send him on his way.

I like seeing traditionally Democrat demographics at the range, it’s their right too and when gun ownership ceases to be a Dem vs Rep issue less Dem politicians will vote for anti gun legislation.

This is a picture thread after all, thank me later.

I'm so confused. Can I like the post for what you said and still cringe at the picture?

C-17s and C-130s with rocket assisted takeoff for especially heavy loads or short runways:

Even smaller jet thrusters or propellant bottles built into the bottom of commercial airliners can also greatly aid in cushioning landings, activating at 20 to 30 feet, providing just enough blast so the plane gently touches the ground and eliminating the infamous "Ryanair landings" if the pilot is coming down a little too fast. Wonder why it isn't implemented on a larger scale... 'Airbagging' would also greatly reduce shock wear and tear on landing gear assemblies.

The JATO car story was entertaining but ultimately debunked.

NEVER, IREPEAT NEVER, BUY ANY PROPERTY THAT SOMEONE ELSE CAN TELL YOU WHAT YOU CAN AND CANNOT DO WITH/ TO IT.

PAINT, LANDSCAPE DECKING, ROOFS but they can get stupid:

One hoaSdemand and fine requiring springs covers on a trampoline, only to receive an additional fine the next day because the cover did not match the color of the trim on his home.

Some HOAs members are not allowed to have any kind of signage on their lawn, including , garage sale or For Sale signs. You don't want to have a 50th b-day.

Leaving a car parked for too long requiring them to be moved at least every 30 days and have current registration. Car covers? Forget about it.

Installing solar, satellite dishes of modern sizes ,and even doing concrete repairs on driveways, sidewalks or to repair sagging front entryways. Ask me about the deck I built over my entryway or metal hand rails on my 1st house.

As part of the lawsuits they brought, which I countersued claiming retribution and predatory enforcement, being dropped, The HOA was basically stripped of all powers but what was required to operate. This as in the 1990's and NEVER AGAIN!

They tried to tell me what my choices were for trim colors and what color ( only the same as the house) the doors could be. I did a gloss deep cranberry red and they went on a hissy fit.

How big your dog could be, having a damaged car in the driveway overnight or even having a flat tire will get you a fine in some HOAs

Having your garage door open for more than an hour, having a baby gate at the top or bottom of your deck, or even decorating or, in my case, enclosing your mailbox in stone, would be cause for you being fined and threatened by the HOA.

Choose carefully, I would never buy a property unless ANY OWNERSHIP ASSOCIATION IS NOT STRIPPED OF POWER EXCLUDING TO MAINTAINING COMMAN AREAS AND ARRANGING TRASH SERVICE after the developer was actively operating (not sitting on lots).

I"m taking a risk, here, but TBH, I don't think it's all that "cringy." Yes, they are large, but also pretty well defined/shapely and not all that much cellulite. That pic might actually qualify as a GAOW entry (look it up) as an "Honorable Mention," if nothing else.

Trust me. Considering the source, it could be a whole lot worse!

It should have never made it to a grand jury in TX if lethal force is legal to protect property there.

1) It's not "legal" in all cases. It's more likely legal when the crime occurs at night than during the day.

2) The fact that it may be legal, at times, probably would not stop an overzealous prosecutor from attempting the charges if they think the jury will convict.

Sadly, for those of us in the Tampa Bay area, those "non deed restricted" properties are few and far between, especially in nearer city suburbs. I mean, property in and of itself is being gobbled up by developers who want to impose deed restrictions (and HOA's to enforce them) in order to attract the right kind of buyers. One has to go out to the "boonies" to get a good 5-10 acre plot that isn't deed restricted. And out there, you're dealing with Infrastructure issues, DIY utilities, etc. etc. Maybe that's the price you pay, but....

Find a subdivision that has retired it's HOA. they donate their common areas to the city and if the city collects trash cease operations. My last HOA was written that way but developers don't like to give up their power until every lot is sold. God forbid they fail and the bank runs the HOA.
