Your mom told me that having a small pp shouldn’t bother me, I still wish she didn’t have one.
interesting. am also 77 but haven't been even to snorkel depth in long time. did a 1 tank 200' dive on the cayman wall in about '78. got narced big time. another guy came down, smacked me on the head and pointed up. i was sooo stoned i was gonna go deeper. beat hash all to hell. didn't bend or embolize. sometimes young and stupid is lucky. never went below about 130 after that. most of my diving was spearing or shelling in 80 or less. great sport combined fishing and hunting. still have a pretty good size shell collection, most self collected.I’m 77. Was a PADI Master Instructor and IANTD Deep Air/Advanced Nitrox Instructor. Medicare, as best I can discern will not cover dive accidents. I’m going to start diving again later this year and will purchase DAN insurance. There are other companies that offer insurance and I believe will cover Technical Divers - Divemaster is one I believe.
My deepest dive was to 201 feet on air in a mine in West Virginia In 1993. Fun. Same mine where Edward Suarez Jr died in 1994.

You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.
Did you watch the video in its entirety? I’m 49 and grew up in and around blue collar neighborhoods doing insanely stupid shit with my friends and never saw a parent act like such a goon in my life.I didn't grow up to be violent. So I don't think you hypothesis is correct. I feared my parents more than the teachers.
Is whipping a kid more painful than sitting in a court gallery, watching him getting sentenced to prison where the chances of him getting really beaten and/or raped is nearly 100%, or watching him laying in a box being lowered into the ground?Did you watch the video in its entirety? You definitely didn’t watch it. This was not a parent intervening in an effective way to curb dangerous behavior. It was a hood rat making a fool out of herself and her child well after any value had been learned from anything else she did. If this represents how you want the adults in your kid’s lives acting, then I feel sorry for them.Is whipping a kid more painful than sitting in a court gallery, watching him getting sentenced to prison where the chances of him getting really beaten and/or raped is nearly 100%, or watching him laying in a box being lowered into the ground?

BullshitIt’s no wonder why these kids grow up to be violent.![]()
When i was a deputy we had a woman bring in her 8yo child saying she can't handle him. She says he always defies her and that night he slapped her. Our chief asked her if she owned a belt. She said if she whipped him she'd be arrested for child abuse. Our chief said bull shit, if you look across the hall, you'll see a belt hanging over the coat rack in my office. You're free to use both to straighten him out. The lady said you can't be serious. The chief said I'm absolutely serious, take him in there and wear him out, it will prevent us from dealing with him when he's older. She absolutely wore him out, and we never heard a peep from them afterwards.Bullshit
It's because nobody has ever held them accountable for any of their actions.
By looking at the ID on her chest, she had to take time off from work to go deal with the little shit and he'll remember it the next time he decides to act the fool.
At least he has someone in his corner willing to set him straight before he ends up in jail, or dead.
You sound like you would prefer he just get a stern look and a safe space.
Ha, stolen!!
I know this is what some of you wear in your mom's basement when you are shit posting on here. It's a good thing @Dirty D invented them after that unfortunate night at my mom's house. Don't worry the ostrich survived, barely.

this is exactly how adults in kids lives need to act. Boundaries are important. Most of the types getting arrested had no boundaries growing up; the rest of society suffers for it and then the kid suffers in prison. The most merciful and loving thing for both the kid, mom and society is belt leather. You definitely didn’t watch it. This was not a parent intervening in an effective way to curb dangerous behavior. “Spare the rod and spoil the child.” Ensure the pain of punishment exceeds the pleasure of misbehaving. Dr. Spock‘s book should be used by every parent - apply it to the child’s posterior. One thing to ensure, don’t relieve your frustration through punishing the child - only use corporal punishment with malice of forethought.this is exactly how adults in kids lives need to act. That’s why God gave you two.Speaking from experience?![]()
I have the first Discman sitting off to my left as I type this
I though I had the coolest Velcro sneakers in the early 80’s
I can’t argue with your point or your eloquent delivery. I appreciate the conversation!I watched it. I was also a deputy for ten years.
Growing up in a fatherless home is the largest contributing factor in growing up in poverty, criminality, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health issues.
If fitlthy wefare whores spent more time teaching their ragamuffins to be productive adults, and less time running the streets slinging choochie like a t-shirt launcher at a ball game, their children wouldn't be sent to prison.

Thank goodness MJ wasn’t in a Port-a-potty.Our Unit was in Hawaii in 1986, and all the boys took the 15 passenger Navy van out on a Saturday night. One of the guys wanted to call the girl he had met and let her know that he would be late. He popped into a phone booth like this one and called her. The driver JJ, was tired of waiting for his sweet talking to get finished, and kept tooting the horn and waving for him to come on. MJ kept holding up a finger in the “just give me a minute” sign. JJ said, “I’m tired of this shit” and put the van in gear and ran up and knocked the whole phone booth down with MJ still inside of it. MJ climbed out unhurt but with broken glass all over him. We dusted him off, and jumped in the van to boogie out of there before the cops showed up. Just another Saturday night in the life of a Navy diver. My friends say that I should write a book.
