It is. I *was on a blood pressure medication and I'm the type that doesn't go to the doctor often at all. Magically, once I start this medication (without any baseline bloodwork mind you), after a month my doctor says I need bloodwork because this medication can cause potassium levels to get out of whack.... so I scheduled the appointment....at the doctors office because they habe a lab there......and research what this side effect is.
Sure, the medication could do things with potassium..... if I was a severe burn patient, diabetic, other health issues, etc.
I have Z E R O other health issues and all other blood work is always solid... this same doctor also called me fat based on my height and weight (I have a 6 pack and work out 10-14 hours a week).
Long story made short, I cancelled the appointments after I talked to the doctor about the medication, side effects, etc. Yeah their excuse was "oh we always check everyone after they start a new medication". I asked how did they know there was any changes if they didn't do baseline bloodwork. Deer in the headlights.
Haven't been back.
