Join the contestHey man, just so you know I wasn’t making fun, I actually like that thing! I have some English camera bags that use that fastening system; it works well and is pretty much silent to operate.Well, the nice thing about the French pouch is you won't lose your mags. Not ideal for all situations, but there aren't that many pouches out there for AW mags, especially positive retention pouches.
If you take off the QC sticker, you won’t need the weights.View attachment 8495429View attachment 8495430
Got my new mlok 16” handgaurd installed. Should I roll with 2 weights or 4 weights? Lol
Just always left it on thereIf you take off the QC sticker, you won’t need the weights.
Don’t give into peer pressure sir! You’re an AI owner! You don’t give into peer pressure because nothing can pressure you!!! You’re a master of the range. A heroic god amongst loser mortals!!! A monster that can’t be stopped by bolt lift tension and proprietary parts!!!!Just always left it on thereI’ll take it off
Hey all,
Curious if anyone has pictures/details of an AXSA set up in an NRL Hunter-Open Heavy config (sub 16 lbs with enough barrel to make PF).
Picture as payment. Thanks!View attachment 8495710
Yeah I figure this is a hammering-with-a-screwdriver situation. It's tough to do

Is that 17.5 without barrel? If not, what barrel/length was that?My AXSA’s all weighed right around 17.5lbs with 5-25 S&B’s, Harris or TBAC bipod, and TBAC Ultra 7 so it’s doable with taking weight out of the optic and barrel, but you won’t be running a MDT triple pull or anything and making weight and it will be insanely ass heavy.
I’ve got the wheels turning on a project that should net an AI SA rifle with Proof CF barrel in the 8-9lbs range sans optic and accessories and actually balance out specifically for a hunting or NRL hunter rifle. I’ll be posting a thread in the coming weeks to gauge interest once all the details are ironed out.
@Mr. F or @blbennett1288 please pick up the light ai courtesy phone
If I did one again it would a fluted as hell 3b steel bartlein for starters for a barrel. Unfortunately probably no can.

How many times is this gonna get asked?Hey all,

How many times is this gonna get asked?
Anyway, simple to do with a AT-X running a 3B and a light scope/mount(has to be cut to about 23” max for a .750” shoulder at least for a bartlein)
No buttpad and obviously no hex key…
MDT Double
Theorem L
Picture is about .25- 5 pounds heavier than itll be after swapping some of the rear hardware and grip, ect.

Only way of rolling with the AX is using a CF barrel. I tried that too.Awesome, thanks, looks like the axsa weighs roughly 2lbs more than the ATX “base weight” so a similar setup should work. Appreciate it!
Wonder how much light the C is vs the regular ATXThis setup is right at 16lbs (without the weights)
The weight is a close estimate since I'm comparing my body weight on a scale with and without rifle.

Outfitted like that (no weights) theres no way in hell i can get my ATX under 16

Ill see id if i can find the pics of when i messed with the AX tonight
I would do a fluted 3b over a carbon every timeThat would be great, I figured I would need a CF barrel. I already have the AX so getting an AT-X just for this would be a last resort lol. Hoping the config is possible with the AX as it is more or less.
Do you think drilling speed holes into the seat cushion will make it sub 12 for Open Light?Re: Makin’ NRL Hunter weight
Pretty soon you duders are gonna be running around with just a debonded AIAX barreled action, iron sights, and a dirty 1988 IKEA seat cushion.
U read my mind! I think it just might!Do you think drilling speed holes into the seat cushion will make it sub 12 for Open Light?
Still an AI so....flex...Re: Making NRL Hunter weight

10.7 lbs without scope, surpressor, and bipod is a light as I've gotten a 22" 3B contour AI without cutting into material. Weight was mostly from side panels, spigot mount, and sling mounts. With an AMG, rings, caps, and TBAC Ultra 7 and its around 13.8lbs

“Add lightness”I'm going to start selling helium filled fake weights to the NRL Hunter crowd![]()
I wish I could pay this guy to do videos like this acting out the discussions we have here.

Do you shoot with it this way? Tell me you’re not joking. Please tell me you’re not joking!
That thumbhole grip now somehow looks like the winged foot of the Greek god Nike.
I think I’d just roll a savage or Ruger American for hunting before doing that to my AIYes I only have one bolt gun so this has been my main setup for the last year or so. I got bit by the idea of stripping as much weight as I could off my AT for hunting.
I think between shortening and fluting the barrel to 16", and not using the steel cheekpiece hardware it would be possible to take off another lb. Take off another 0.5lb if I downsized with a 19-21 oz optic like a NXS 2.5-10, shcmidt klassik, or March 3-24x42.
Removing the sidepanels does make the foreend much less comfortable to hold. The velcro tape helps.
I think an AXSA would be even lighter if you take the fore-end off and run entirely off an arca adaptor on the chassis body.

What’s running the bolt on the 1727 look like. Is it pretty smooth and do you naturally put your thumb on the back of the bolt while shooting? How about some 22 long rifle love
West Michigan Cerakote, Jurassic Park, Anschutz 1727F, RimX
