Someone enlighten me on that mount height and cant choice. Seems.. excessive.
I saw this rifle mentioned a couple of weeks ago here:

And then found this:

Makes me wonder what clip-ons they’ll employ. Really limits the options if that was a consideration. Midwave can accommodate the different cant angles, but not as easily done with long wave. I2 is less of a problem.

They are just victims of the system.
Probably did that so no matter what clip on they use or have access to, or future procurement, will all fit

Took the little lady out on a date and had a mk12's maiden voyage. She loves the clone m118lr and 168fgmm.

Also, got data on 168 gr loads from a 16" barrel for those wondering from before.
Hornady black amax: 2508, 17.8es, 7.3sd
Hornady match eldm: 2517, 34.1es, 15.1sd
Fgmm: 2442, 37.2es, 12.8sd

Really need to take more esthetically pleasing photos one day.

Why do Germans always have the sickest drip? I mean take the insignias out of the picture (to be politically correct so nobody gets a hard on me this evening), since ww1, you know…

Are you sure magazine capacity restrictions is what you want to hitch your wagon to? 🤣
I don't think they should be restricted....I think people should learn to do mag changes... Why did 12 round stages come about? But I digress

Do you think you could beat me in a mag change during a 15 rd stage if you had a 10rd mag and I had a 15rd mag? Clearly, there's no way the fastest mag changer in the west can beat someone that doesn't have to change mags at all. I don't think anyone doesn't know how to change a mag. I just don't understand why 10 is the magic number. Why not ask or expect better? Why not 12 or 15 rounds in a mag? Why is 7 minute abs all fucked up but 6 minute abs is right?
Do you think 12 round stages just magically started happening because that's ideal number per stage lol

If the intent of the 15 round stage was to do a mag change and you brought a 17rd mag just to game it I mean I guess which is pretty much what all of prs has said.

I agree why 10... Why even reload at all? Why not just belt feed it? Why not a drum?

Where would you find a 17rd AICS mag? Or a bolt action AI rifle that takes belted ammo? You're speaking in hyperbole. It's not reasonable. But a 12 or 15 rd AICS mag is. I mean what if someone made a 20rd double stack, doublefeed SR25-type mag that allowed a 2.990" COAL in a AICS footprint that fits a R700 custom action or ATX? Would you scorn the manufacturer or would it be a step forward? Why would you resist forward progress? Do you think you are a more pure subscriber to fundamental skills than I am? Do you think you've dedicated more time to speed mag changes than I have in my life? I doubt it.

Sometimes material solutions outweigh training solutions. Yes training is important. But don't be stuck in the past. As far as why do PRS match directors do what they do, I don't think they know why. They do a lot of monkey see, monkey do shit. And contrived, made up shit. But as far as pushing past 10rd stages...why is every stage 10 rds? Why don't we shoot 20 rd stages? Or 30rs stages? Bring it big shifter.

I'm not arguing that things can't progress.... You will get a 16+rd aics pattern mags when md start doing 15+ round stages on the reg .... I'm not scorning the mfg they are filling an obvious demand.

Pretty sure I made 0 assumptions or comments as to your abilities home skillet nor did I make any comparisons to my own

I am merely providing free commentary on a sat night to something I find comical about the competitive shooting world. It's not the first time and won't be the last

66.6% of the scopes in this pic finished that match.

I think we should move to 2 round stages. Saves ammo and improves skill.

Fritz at Black Canyon Customs.
+1 to BCC. Just got my new 300PRC barrel that was done with the Alex Wheeler JGS AW2 reamer. I hope I can get it to the range today for zero and some break in.

ETA - 1/8 to handle the Berger 245s and Hornady 250 A-Tips. The stability calculator says I'm good at 1/9 but Fritz had this 1/8 in stock so it made sense and was quicker.

If they want a mag change it should be specified in the stage description

And AI should have 12 and 15 rounders
If you happen across a large pack of guilty animals , it would be nice not to have to change Mags.

You should have been carrying a semi but that is irregardless

Been running matches for 9 or 10 years now. 12rd stages were put in place to force mag changes. Then people got mag extensions and dssf 12rd mags, etc. Now my range every now and then requires mag change when moving positions. If you just bumped the number up you'll have some weirdo like above with a drum mag.

What started pissing me off more was when prs said you can't lose points on a stage and killed the spirit of stages like know your limit or a complicated target package with a negative point for each wrong target shot (still couldn't score less than zero). You took 90% of the mental side of a match right out of it and just made it into target shooting. That and the mandate "every stage has to be cleanable"... what bs... again no thinking "hey maybe I'll just take my time and good hits or I can blow through that position because the final one is more stable OR I could be an idiot and rush everything and suck" (on a stage designed to be too long to finish in time). Again... no thought to a stage anymore.

Guys i need help. Could anyone post a picture of their AWSM side panels of the grip? Inside aswell. I wanted to cut them to fit, while dry fitting i noticed it wont work by cutting the way i have seen it on pictures.

The whole "edge" is still in the way of the goddamn monopod i dont use anyways. Were there different models? Thought only the front panels were different. This sucks big time.

1) That picture looks expensive.
2) If you spend all your money on AI shit, and feel so guilty for stacking bodies at night with a $2K home-built semi... that you take the AI out instead...that's your own fault.

FWIW I'd probably do the same, but my wife won't buy me another AI until at least 2025 😉. I guess there is a limit to #teamtrophyhusbands

Since they were asked for -- particularly from @xxflyingturtlexx -- I went down a rabbit hole a few weeks ago studying the Accuracy International Bundeswehr G22A2. I had thought it simply a Pale Brown AXMC for years. I was corrected by a friend in France who then sent me down a rabbit hole of studies on the rifle. These are some of the high resolution photos I've been able to collect on my rifle. Photo credits go directly to the Bundeswehr and to DVIDS.

When the contract was started, upgrades to the original G22 was found to be the most economic. They took the upper receiver, barrels, and actions from the G22 which is chambered in .300WM, and essentially mated them to the AXMC chassis, furnishing them into a complete weapon systems package. All G22A2s are marked with the original G22 date codes and still say "SM" on the side of the receivers. They are not quick-changeable barrels, as you note there is no retention bolt on the side of the receiver.

The scope mount used is a 30 MOA EraTac, as the rail system itself is 0MOA. Scope itself is a Steiner M5Xi 5-25x56mm MTC LT LPF with a Tremor3 Reticle.

Note the strap across the top: the Bundeswehr are known for using these profusely to mitigate mirage, just like the old AWs.

And my favorite photo. The original is too high resolution to upload, so this is the smaller version.

I got a bunch of pig blood on my pants and left them in the washing machine for her the other night. It'll be another few days before I'm not "gross" anymore...

I'm a dude, so I've already tried to see if she was receptive 12 or 13 times this morning...
