seems to me kari and tulsi should have a role. and i really think m.t. greene should be placed somewhere with ass kicking potential. ie if she can be replaced with a conserv in the house.
I'd go with Tulsi in a heartbeat. I trust her much more than 90% in the GOP.
She knows some don't trust her and I think she's out to prove them wrong.
He has a LOT of connections into the military at many levels and all branches thanks to his time and work at FOX and writing his books. Trump doesn't want another military lifer who will go with whatever direction the wind blows. Pete will not waiver in his support of Trump, what's best for the military, and defending the constitution and this country.

Not sure I'm on board with yet another department. Why not a special "team" of individuals looking for waste and fraud? Does it have to be a new department...like the Department of Education....one we never get rid of and then it too becomes a quagmire.

1) He's definitely got the mindset right to correct what's wrong with our corp; The current morale is a MEGA issue.
2) Does he have enough engineering background to be able to help direct new weapons systems developments. That said, people playing dressup won't even be able to use anything new and badass.
Overall, a good pick. Like others, I really figured this would be Tulsi or that Tulsi would be Sec of State.

I think MTG deserves a spot.
One thing positive about the last four years, the stolen years, is that it has boiled out the impurities of the swamp, the Bill Barrs and Pences, leaving the true Trump loyalists. MTG has not only unapologetically held her position the whole time, she has been on the attack.

When I saw the freaking CENTCOM Commander say they were using the Taliban for perimeter security during the withdrawal, I was flabbergasted. He even qualified it by stating that they were particularly skilled at running checkpoints.
Hegseth is a fan of Rubio, Cruz, and showed loyalty to Trump since 2016 once Trump was the nominee. He was a National Guard officer and deployed to OIF and OEF after doing the Guantanamo Bay mission.
It will be very interesting to see a young officer over DoD in a civilian capacity with top-down orders, but who also understands the elementary missions of the services. I imagine a lot of leadership has just been marking time with the woke agenda, but there are enough of them who are actual believers in that crap that need to go.
Maybe he knows for a flag officer to achieve that high ranking they have had to compromise.
And he doesn't need any more compomised generals.

Leave the currently elected republicans alone. Dont put them in cabinet positions. This could really hurt the chances of getting anything important through, especially in the house. Just because the republicans control the chairs now by no means translates into owning it after a special election.
The House lead is so minor every major vote will require everyone. Pulling them out for another position is very foolish and could change the course of many things if the ball bounces the wrong way. Remember, we only have two years of this before it is contested and there should be no thinking that we will retain it. The next two years need to count; pulling them out of their positions is not helping.

Probably because I'd think that neither Musk nor Ramaswamy could do this "full time" and still run their existing companies. I'd think they'd have to give them up as "govt. employees" now.

Rubio's selection to the Cabinet opens up a spot on for SSCI Chairman that Coryn covets. These moves would open up the Senate leadership for Rick Scott.

Agreed. Make it a blue ribbon panel or commission. Like the Challenger Disaster commission or the Warren Commission. But instead of filling it with political hacks, fill it with hard nosed small government types from a wide array of backgrounds. Give it 2 years... results ongoing.
Give them subpoena powers and the ability to arrest folks who don't respond to subpoenas. Let them subpoena any government documents they want. Give them the ability to recommend charges and prosecutions to the DoJ when corruption is found. Give them the power to remove incompetent or compromised people from their jobs NOW. Or perhaps with a review (also by an independent non-government panel.) Give them the ability and authority to recommend the dissolution of entire entities (whether they be teams, departments, agencies, bureaus... you name it) that are counter-productive.
Give them the ability to delve into federal LE AND into the intel agencies. If that means top-secret security clearances? Well then issue them. But nothing should be out of bounds to these people. And their recommendations need to be binding!!
Another department is the LAST thing we need. Make it independent. And make sure they have the power to make their findings somethinig that action can be taken on.

But when the WH in power screws things up bad enough to get the attention of the apolitical unaffiliated voters who normally don’t participate, you see that WH evicted. It happened to Carter the last time.
As long as the fundamentals of the economy are good, with affordable homes, energy prices, transportation, appliances, and food, the unaffiliated don’t vote in big numbers, and the ones that do keep the WH in power intact.
The partisans don’t seem to grasp this concept for whatever reasons.

So, back to Pete H as SecDef. I'm still really curious about this one. Absolutely NOBODY I know dislikes this man and his service to Our Republic. However, many I've spoken with agree that there is a LOT more to being SecDef. Many said Kash Patel should have been it. Universally people I've spoken to seem to think that it takes a combination scientist and businessman to be in SecDef position. Lot's of financials and understanding of technology and where it's going.
I seriously hope he can rise to that as I do not know if he's got anything in his background to pull from with budgets, line items, and pretty hard core understanding of the tech involved in building something like the new B-21. I wish nothing but the best for Pete though, as he's been in DJT's camp since he won in 2016 and I don't see him backstabbing Trump the way Mattis did. Perhaps, at this time it's more important to have that trust than some super brain!!!

Gaetz district is far right, any replacement is highly likely to be a republican, so it won't change the balance. He won 66% to 34% over the dem he ran against.
