Ya know the longer I live on this earth the more the urge to buy a clip on intensifies.
The used ones in px are a friggin steal

I mostly shot without it since the steel was invisible today. I was hoping the sun would hit the targets enough to warm them but no luck. I did hit the IPSC with the thermal by holding off from a tree almost like shooting en defilade

From Hulk Cock to Peanut Butter. As much as I liked it green, this is a slick scheme.

That's wildly cheap. Interested to see how well it performs.
I am definitely interested too. Although that's the same price of used or like new Impact4000 and Scott + Vortex team have been super supportive of the units and the Hide.

The name seems like a bit of a knock off from the Vortex as does the rough design. But if the foot print is smaller, it's durable, and has similar ranging capabilities with a street price of close to a grand, that's gonna be hard to beat. but again, Vortex warranty owns all.

Meant NV.... but that c35 is tempting at 2k lol

So I finally did it. Decided to get an ax338 instead of the axmc( didn’t need the short action capability ) only think I kinda want from the axmc is the butt stock. Anyone done this swap? Looking at the parts it looks like it should be just like the AT to AT LE swap

Does it have the HK-hook sling attachment like this?

If so, it's possible to do the swap but it's going to be a lot more work. You can take the skins off to confirm, but the "old" style of bonded buttstock used a bonded pin, rather than the flat head screws of the most recent generation.

Here's more info, good luck https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/at-folder-onto-an-older-aics-or-ae-1-5.6989495/

It's not as easy as just swapping over from what I was told at Mile High. I was in the same situation, but sold off the AX338 and got the MC instead.

I am getting the itch again for an AT again. My home range (Brocks Gap in Alabama) is opening a 1500y range at the new location and would justify the use of a bolt rifle. Surprisingly few used ATs on the market.

Logically I know I could just get a Howa, Solus, etc. but I know how nice an AT is now formerly having one. Once the AI itch infects the mind, its hard to logically see other rifles.

There are several AXSAs listed but this at it reasonable.

Having owned an AT, AX, and ATX, and with what used AT's are going for, I would be more inclined to get an ATX, than an AT, unless you absolutely have to have a thumbhole.

Thumbhole is AI master race!

The AT will likely keep going up in price. The ATX will either stay lower where it’s been or climb up a bit. Really depends on the reviews coming out of the new ATXC platform

So far from what I’ve seen on the ATXC thread it doesn’t sound like much of an improvement over a decked out Gen 3 ATX

I think that you are right. The AT-X took a dip in prices when the AT-XC was still in the pipeline. However the first reviews are starting to show its not really improving much over the AT-X.

Now if the magnum bolts come out who knows.

I still prefer my ax308 over my AT-x and AXSR though.

I had the AT first. Thumbhole of course because I’m not some uncultured swine

Then tried a AXMC. Liked the gun but the height was noticeable compared to the AT. Was a great gun though. In hindsight I maybe should have kept it. But I can always buy @Huskydriver axmc if he doesn’t sell it haha. I’d put a thumbhole on it though

Moving to the ATX next made it feel more like I was shooting a MDT chassis on a custom setup. But I think in that case I’d prefer the custom. The ATX was nice but the bolt lift noticeably more and made it annoying to shoot

So now I own 2 AT’s with thumbholes. I posted it here already but these are my babies

Currently have a bolt at black canyon where Fritz is turning it into a magnum along with a 300 wsm barrel. Exited to get it going!

Eh the AT will go up in price for a bit and then bottom out like the MK's. I dont see the AT or AT-X ever being a collectors item like AW's and staying high priced. I do think the AX's will demand a premium for quite some time, just like we have seen with the AXMCs.

My point was you can get an ATX for close to the same price as an AT right now. I think most would agree that an ATX is a better buy at the same price.

... That's because it's just a decked out AT-X...but one quarter pound lighter. 😄

Seriously though, minus the top rail I'm ~$5,200 for my AT-X that is now an AT-XC clone. So basically I'd be paying AI about $500+ (depend on who qualifies for what discounts) for putting the parts on for me. And that's a lot of work...I'd bet it'd take a good 30-40 minutes.

I'm sure someone will come on now and correct me about the improved bolt lift, however I'll have them know ahead of time that I've had to wrestle with this here huge cock for my entire life and #12lbboltliftlife isn't all that difficult.

The best feature is the continuous one piece top rail for clip ons etc. Helps with shift of. Things

The bolt lift isn’t as big of a deal as it’s chalked up to be. I definitely noticed it but only really while load testing. I like to keep my cheek weld throughout my string and it was noticeable with that. However mine did top out a 12 lbs gauge so it was more than 12. Grabbing both the AT and ATX felt like a very big difference

Another feature that should be noted on the XC is the added action screw. There was reports of actions screws on the ATX coming loose. They only recommended 35 inch lbs if I remember correctly. Where the AT/AX are like 55 inch lbs and bonded.

If they support this with small rifle and magnum bolts then it will be worth the upgrade in my opinion.

Otherwise a decked out Gen 3 ATX seems like a far better value from the px right now

My wife grabbed her savage the other day to sight in for deer season. She fired a shot and while opening the bolt asked “is it supposed to be that difficult”. I said “well it’s a savage”. However I just as easily could have said “well it’s an ATX” 😎👍

I definitely won't argue with this point. It just doesn't fit into my personal usage scenarios with dedicated thermal optics and rigs.

***edited to add; who cares about my personal usage***

Does an AT folding rear stock assembly fit on an AXMX? Assuming yes since they sell the AX stock for AT. Just want to verify.

I’m trying to swap out mine to a thumb hole stock, like photo below. If anyone has a folder AT stock laying around after swapping to an AX rear, send me a DM if you want to sell it.

Ok Mark Larue. 260 is so pre gwot lol
Your ATs are sick though. So having an LE makes me an uncultured swine?

That’s @Huskydriver rifle in that pic. He may be able to help
