(FYI - Patriot Front would be a classic example of a dirty trick). Former Seminole Co. FL Tax Collector Joel Greenberg - who was the one who ratted Gaetz out for sex with an underage girl, and was himself facing 33 charges / pled to 6 Fed charges & received 11 yrs - including sex trafficking and ID fraud (those two are very important as you will see). And Matt (Butthead) Gaetz.

Does it really makes sense that Greenberg (who is working with someone who admittedly was associated with intelligence agencies and was partners with Greenberg in a crypto scam in the county) spent $70,000.00 on hookers with the county Amex? Or was he hosting honey pot parties where he met Matt Gaetz?
This is interesting: In FL the Tax Collector (an elected position) ALSO issues state ID & DLs. As part of his plea, Greenberg admits to fuckin the underaged and providing falsified state ID. So Gaetz can legally say - I never paid for sex, and I never had sex with an underage girl. The Judge who sentenced Greenberg remarked to the effect that he was amazed by the prolific number and sophistication of the scams Greenberg was running (state sponsored actor?)

my (bad) thought is that when trump makes a very aggressive pick,like gaetz,the team of mcconell and schumer will use any method they can to sink it. then they will "cooperate" with a deep state 2nd pick. the other thought is all these nominations he is making for positions i and most people never heard of is a screaming symptom of the deep state being dug in solidly and being invulnerable to any attempt to trim it down.
