Ok pardon the ignorance but looking at this I have no idea who an hk hook would attach to this. Am I missing a part?
That piece has a hole in it, right? Same size as the sling mount on the butt of the rifle? This looks like the same sling mount that came with my old AX338 and AX308.

No. The hook will be on the sling that you would purchase separately. See attached link for AI sling with hook. Other manufacturers make slings with these hooks or you can buy them separately to put on a sling of your choice. Same method you would need to use to mount a sling to your AE.

That’s the thing that baffles me. There is no hole on that piece.
My guess is that it got deleted by the previous owner.

Ah…it looked a little off in the photo which is why I replied the way I did. This the link to the part I thought it was. Perhaps the previous owner removed the section with the hole. I would just remove it and press on. Good luck.

Same here. I have a lefty in ES and wish I needed one in righty. I’m assuming once it’s sold the price goes back over $11k with occasional discounts in the $10k range? (For current colors)

I actually had a right handed one as well in ES but sold it sometime after my lefty came in. I'd expect full MSRP to be the norm, with 10-15% sales once in a while. $8100 is nuts, I'm surprised that these haven't sold out already.

What’s the general consensus for a 338 can? I presume tbac is at the top of the list.
Any others?
338Ultra gen2. Can’t imagine anything else.

Also, for anyone looking for a bag for their AXSR, I just posted a review

How much were these suckers?

$972 shipped for the 3 from the UK. $100ish of that was shipping and customs fees.

I’d bet that I’m the only person/business in North America besides AINA that had any though as MHSA said they didn’t have any when I asked a few months ago and AINA won’t sell them.

I grabbed one. Really excited, and a great deal once you factor in the reward points.
While you’re at it, , EO has TT 7-35 price reductions. Pretty sure you can get it much lower than what’s advertised on their site if you call them.

This drives me nuts.

I have cash, you have thing I want, you will give me thing I want and I will give you cash.

Exactly. This is what pisses me off about AI. I have money and want to give it to them for a part but they either refuse to sell it or charge a stupid amount of money for it plus limit the supply.

I love AI rifles but I hate AI as a company.

If I had a bunch of extra cash around I would sell AI parts that Mile High won’t sell from a van parked next to their location.

I think you’d have to have an absolutely insane over pressure round to worry about that

I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Having a $5K+ paperweight of a rifle due to not being able to get a replacement if needed (16+ weeks to get one) would piss me off. It's the same reason that I have 3 spare complete bolt assemblies.

Getting parts from AI is a nightmare and AINA wants you to send you rifle in for even the stupidest things that they don't need the rifle for and I have no interest in shipping my expensive rifle across the country for no reason.

I love AI rifles...I hate AI as a company.

I’ve had to send my AXSR in to AI, I had it back within two days of mailing it and they were very communicative about the whole thing. I’ve called them and Scott is the guy who answered the phone and gave very detailed answers to my questions.

Yes they aren’t great if you’re trying to buy individual pieces and want them immediately and the demand for their stuff is quite high. However, I have been above and beyond satisfied with my service experience with them.

I guess it may help that I have multiple AI’s so if I have to ship them a gun to look at, I just grab another one to go shoot or hunt things. YMMV.

You’re buying the most durable and I think best supported fleet rifle system. Remember, their primary client is someone who runs it as a system. kinda hard to act surprised when a system gets serviced like a system 🤷‍♂️
