Dumping the AT seems like a stupid move. The whole point of the ATX was supposed to be for the prs market. I don't see the ATX filling the market spot for AT consumers.

I wouldn't be surprised if they still did runs of the AT now and then, I've been told they will continue supporting the AT/AW with spares for the foreseeable future.
They could easily do small runs of full rifles for Mil/LEO customers, but I doubt the civilian market will see very many if any.
Sporting services had a run of AWMs a while back (338lm and 300wm) so AI obviously can/will do limited runs.
The AT-X and subsequent AT-XC is now their new .308 and 6.5 flagship, with the AXSR their large caliber rifle. They consolidated and modernized, regardless of the AT and AWs history
A few pages back i did this with pictures actuallyI’m pretty sure the Proofs are a Sendero which is very similar to the M24.
I am intrigued by this weight savings, I think I need to put mine on the scale when I get home to see what it would take to get it sub 16.
Same.I will add that MHSA has been incredible to deal with.
I was waiting for that sentence to end with pr2 mil but it ended up with disappointment. If you can find me a reticle that is as easy for my broke-ass eyes to see as the .1 MRAD thick Illuminated TMR I am open to other options.

P.S. As a motivated dabbler at most, the Leupold MK5 will never be the thing holding me back.
Depends on how big of a boy you are bubbaIf it Arken, it ain’t right.
As for optics… every fucking scope over 2k needs these damn tool-less TT turrets. They’re so damn nice. Makes me almost forget I ever had an ATACR…
Then again, make an Arken with TT turrets and it’s game over! Arken would dominate the market!!!!
Side Question:
Is it wrong to buy an AT-X with a 5-25 TT as a first bolt rifle for my 9yr old? Or does it need to be an Areo with an Arken?
Getting a taste of Grey Poupon, Lobster Tail and Filet Mignon right out the womb?Side Question:

It’s a tough way to be, that’s for sure.Wrong... no... but he'll never have money after he realizes everything else sucks immediately
It is sweet, for sure. When it gets a little warmer, I am taking it out to try it...can't waitBehold!
An AI AT Bag Rider arrived at my home today made by our very own @pfl338!
It’s so sexy it almost makes you ignore my Leupold MK5 scope!

I need a flat trigger shoe… any preference or are there really any differences between them, other than the bump on the bottom of some?
Hey anything that keeps people shooting and enjoying this stuff longer, I am a fanBest thing made for old eyes, MK Machining is were I got mine, no more reading glasses for the turret LOL

Awesome
Having owned both, this one made by @pfl338 is better than the AI factory one IMO due to the slight hook at the bottom and the texture.

I want an AWSM with a quick - detach barrel and the ability to accept longer .338 LM rounds.
And, oh - thumbhole stock.
AI went towards the prs crowd. Which in my opinion, being a big AI fan, was a poor choice. There’s to many custom actions, triggers, caliber etc for their design to truly shine.
If I was running prs I’d build a rifle tailored to the sport.
I love my AI’s but it’s not going to be my first choice for a comp gun
AI is like the Barrett. It’s a military grade sniper rifle. There’s nobody running Barrett’s in prs. Or at least you don’t see it. Because they don’t belong there
We fired this ammo last weekend, not bad accuracy for armor piercing.
I’m probably wrong, but it looked like the ATX was in the hands of military personnel before the ATX was introduced to the citizen shooter, or is that time line backwards?Yes , BUT . . . .
Is PRS crowd is ahead of the .mil guys on tools and gear? I haven't been in either game, but from what it looks like PRS is trickling out to .mil guns i.e. arca rails, tripods and positional shooting.
So by AI playing in that field it's kinda giving them a head start on the next contract solicitation? Like boarder patrol and the AT-XC.
Looking at the AX, AT, and AT-X side by side, there is really nothing the AT/AX do that the AT-X doesn't do better.Yes , BUT . . . .

The one unit I saw using it was with Special Operations. [REF: DVIDS]Which mil hands did it hit first?
Yes, it was being tested. Although the original AT-X was announced and showcased at SHOT Show in early 2021.I’m probably wrong, but it looked like the ATX was in the hands of military personnel before the ATX was introduced to the citizen shooter, or is that time line backwards?
I should clarify. This is only my opinion.Yes , BUT . . . .

This is the part that I’m preaching above. There used to be a good value proposition in getting an AE or AT (especially used) compared to a custom rifle but those days are over now when the base AI rifle starts at $6500 and the magnum capable rifle is $12000.
This is the part that I’m preaching above.
AT models let the common folk afford an AI. In recent months those have become more scarce to find. When you do find one it seems they’re creeping up to around $4000 in the used market since discontinuation.
Which again makes it harder for guys to get into AI’s who don’t have a ton of $$ to spend
Less whining, more shooting. 22lr 400 yards

What sling swivel is this? Do regular keymod accessories fit keyslot?Took her out to 1,525y this afternoon. Wind really kicked my ass, but had a great time and learned from it.

I’m using the Gray Ops CNC QD mount (full kit option) and Bump Cover. I also bought the little picatinny rail section that attaches to the Garmin factory tripod so that you can bounce the Garmin Xero back and forth between the arca mount and tripod with ease and speed.Which Garmin Xero ARCA mount are you using and did it include the flip open screen protector? I imagine that the AX Sling mount would work on the AT-X/AT-XC as well?
The new prices on the AI make me wish I had bought an AE MKiii and an AT. The AT was great great.
Fair point, follow on question. Hypothetically, would you trade an AE for and AT? What would the cost difference point be worth it for you?Having had both there’s no reason whatsoever to get an AE if getting an AT is an option.
The AW magazines alone are worth the extra cost. I dislike all rifles now that don’t have double stack double feed magazines that I can load through the chamber including my TRG-42.

I started with 1x AE Mk3 I bought new from Mile High…
