If you can find me a reticle that is as easy for my broke-ass eyes to see as the .1 MRAD thick Illuminated TMR I am open to other options.

P.S. As a motivated dabbler at most, the Leupold MK5 will never be the thing holding me back.
The Storms, backwards American flag patch, purple S with arrow through it, and hat with red snake with arrow through it all lead me to believe these are American SF and not Europeans. Looks like loaner guns though, which is odd.Damn imagine being European and getting issued a Leupold lol

Fixed for free.S&B belong on AI’s
Leupold and Nightforce belong on Barrett’s
The last photo shows US Army B4 Snipers who, in fact, were issued Leupolds with WMLRFs who then brought both with them to the competition, and then used in-country weapon systems i.e. the AW and AWM. So... You're close.Damn imagine being European and getting issued a Leupold lol

And yes, they are not illuminated. B4s gave a lot of input for the current contract and very purposely did not want the illuminated model due to repeated failures of that model in past optics.
* Silently stares at my two MK5HDs on my AT308sWoof cant imagine taking my issued Leupold by choice lol...
Sure but I'd at least like to understand the hateMate you don’t have to justify your scope purchases to this bunch of neckbeards![]()

As for optics… every fucking scope over 2k needs these damn tool-less TT turrets. They’re so damn nice. Makes me almost forget I ever had an ATACR…
Then again, make an Arken with TT turrets and it’s game over! Arken would dominate the market!!!!
Side Question:
Is it wrong to buy an AT-X with a 5-25 TT as a first bolt rifle for my 9yr old? Or does it need to be an Areo with an Arken?
TBAC can getting ordered when I order the rifle. Just not sure which rifle to get him. If I can snag a 223 kit for the ATX then I’d get him one of them.If you want you 9yo to be like my 5yo daughters who ask if anyone else is coming shooting with us and if they are they using a suppressor because if they are not they don't want to come .....
You knowYes he 100does did you forget what thread you are in lol

Variety is the spice of live. Different eyes, different scopes. Else competition between companies wouldn't exist.Had a MK5 before and have looked through plenty of others. The sight picture is small, the reticles choices aren't that great, reticles are too thick, and the glass was really sub par IMO. But I do like the ascetics of the scope.
Or being an American and choosing one, like I did for my AI AT.

There’s people who don’t only own TT and Schmidt?![]()
Your OnlyFans sucks.Of course my ability to shit on the optics decisions of others is limited with my own "poors" choices.
Some dumbass just bought another 1911 simply because I didn't have one from Guncrafter Industries yet...
That'll take a few months to recover from since my OF page still isn't making anything.
The forms are often more about memes than experience. If your scope works for you then rock on.Sure but I'd at least like to understand the hateit's about a 50/50 love-hate for Leupold in the sniper community from what I've seen and experienced.
IMO Leupolds just don't look right on AI's. Having said that, my AW was originally meant to have a MK4 10x on it when it was RFQ by the FBI. I still have 3 other Leupolds on other rifles, but they are very specific to those builds. But generally when we see a AI in the wild, it's usually with a NF or a S&B or those crazy Germans running Steiner's on theirs. I really have tried to like the MK5 scopes, but for a little more money, you can really have a lot better scope. I was close to buying another for my MK12 Mod1, but looked through them again and I remember why I sold mine.Variety is the spice of live. Different eyes, different scopes. Else competition between companies wouldn't exist.
I have a lot of confidence in Chris Roberts with CR2 Solution who does technical advising for Leupold. As a man who spent many years as an Army Sniper then Army Sniper Instructor, I'd like to think that Leupold is getting all the right messages from what the community wants. It is for this reason that the Army still uses Leupolds today for their B4s. This said, my understanding is that the Nightforce ATACR can take more abuse. What that looks like, is beyond my knowledge... I haven't beat up any scopes recently. But no one wants to assault a scope like @Huskydriver seems to
The Mark 8 3.5-25x H58/59/T3 is when I saw Leupold mature. The MK5HD is just a revised Mark 8 with more refined materials. But yes: the eyebox is smaller than others, something that I hope they revise in future models.
None of this says anything against Nightforce or any other brands out there. But the Leupold MK5HD is the first scope I actually fell in love with all around, and their military discount makes them worth it. Retail vs retail? No, I'd rather get a low end S&B for the same price, or a Nightforce. So all said... I still don't understand the disgust or hate towards it. They've been great scopes and a great company to work with with amazing support when needed. And they really take care of the military/veteran community, let alone the B4 community.
Those people to everyone else lolThere’s people who don’t only own TT and Schmidt?![]()

The flat trigger is also made by @pfl338 and I like it better than the AI flat trigger due to its slight bend at the bottom which enables repeatability and its texture which contributes to the same. What trigger blade are you using?
I have no idea. That laminate flooring?
I have no idea.
It’s probably original from 1983.

Dumb question; are the AT rifles still gonna be offered in the market?
No. The AT308s were discontinued effectively December 2023. Whatever is left on the market is all that is left.Dumb question; are the AT rifles still gonna be offered in the market?
Wonder why AI discontinued the AT? I would guess AT was the best selling model.No. The AT308s were discontinued effectively December 2023. Whatever is left on the market is all that is left.
