Ladies and gentlemen of the non-R700 Jury, I’d ask that you please remember back to post # 21,819 where a sticker, that’s clear as Burt’s R700 in an AICS, is believed to be “glare” by this Jeep-owning lint licker! ::dramatic turn and point as jury gasps::

I expect better from you in 2025 sir…

Now as a pic tax, here’s two AXSR bolts 69’ing on a bed of the Lord’s caliber.

You're right....I think 2025 is off to a good start personally.... Full send or gtfo

Amax blows smk out the water

In BC and effects on living targets
I used to hand load 168 AMAX. Had a box I couldn’t get the seating depth consistent on. Turned out the bullets base to ogive varied .017” in a single box of 100. Looked like they came of two machines. The box was replaced but the box of smk I tested at the same time had a variation of .003”. Haven’t shot a 168 Amax since

I'll have to try it. The stats look good but how is the consistency measured on a chronograph?
Federal T308T and LE308TTMK2 are king shit of .308 turd mountain, no?
I plan to check out the T308T using my new XERO. The other one is designed for barrier penetration. It can penetrate windows and not alter its trajectory. It is not what I would use for demonstrating precision.

I will also test some Berger and a few others

Federal T308T and LE308TTMK2 are king shit of .308 turd mountain, no? 0.48 and 0.452 BC respectively for those playing the home game.

Multiple boxes of T308T, this one is the worst I have. The best from the same lot is tighter with under 40fps ES and 10.1fps SD. Too poor for LE308TTMK2 though.

Federal T308T is also next to try on my list, for my AT308s with LW 1:12 barrels. Its the most stable round that has the greatest BC. Most Hornady rounds just won't fully stabilize with a 1:12 twist and their BC/performance is being neutered from the lack of gyroscopic spin. This gives me more confidence in turning to T308T.

I've shot at least a case through my AT's original LW 12 twist barrel. It is impressive. It works equally well in 10 twist barrels on my AT, AXMC, and TacOps.

Sierra also makes a Match King Variant with a Green acetate tip called the TMK. Lots of F-Class shooters use it. It has a G1 BC of .535 which is much better than the standard SMK. Not sure if the T308T uses the same bullet.

That TMK in 223 is a hella bullet…I’m sure in 308 is nothing to play with either.

I got some of them 77s to try out for my Tikka

I’ve heard @Terry Cross say the TMK projectile used in T308T is not commercially available or the same bullet used in the consumer/match grade ammo.

AI AT in AW skins. Finally got the courage to drill the quickloc screw hole in the skins.

New 6.5x47L barrel for competition was going exceptionally well at 1000m. Running an ATEC PRS 1 MOD suppressor brake and 136gr scenars.

2696fps in the 25” barrel with varget. Girls 11 & 12 were hammering the hostage target at 700m.

It has a lower BC than the Sierra TMK
For sure .....but... it is very well behaved and consistent across more barrels and chambers due to it retaining the original 168bthp ogive versus the newer TMK that sacrificed "well behaved" for higher BC.

That original ogive profile was the magic sauce in GM308M.

Federal knew everybody was going to use the GM308M as the standard most would compare the new T308T with. They understood that their target audience cannot tweak OAL, powder charge, etc in an attempt to optimize the TMK if it didnt shoot well in an LE rifle, so the didn't go there.

This is also true of the 155gr 2155 SMK used in palma. That bullet was so easy to load and shoot compared to the 2156.

Thanks for the information @Terry Cross

Can you tell me what you mean by "well-behaved"?

Those chronos make a lot of ammo look bad. Compared to years back

No more shoot 5-10 through screens or with a magnetto then take it off and do the rest of your shooting.

Being able to Chrono all the rounds really shows outliers. Maybe you handloaders with time for days have better results

Time for days? What’s that?
