It makes sense to produce one chassis that can be used on the T1x and T3x, no different to any other chassis on the market.

However it does seem like they need an actual competition 22lr model, with the full length forend and a 24 or 26" heavy barrel. That way it'd actually match the centerfire model as a trainer and would make a killer off the shelf model for people wanting to get into the game.

The market is missing a good factory option that splits the difference between a T1x MTR/457 and a full Vudoo build.
Might not appeal to the North American market but for the rest of the world R700 style builds aren't particularly accessible.
With the Anschutz offering like the 1761 APR, the AT-X, and the ACC chassis options I think there is a market there.

I don't think a 26" barrel would be universally appealing but maybe a a 20" and 24" barrel option would be ok.
If this existed as an option I 100% would buy one, certainly never would've rebarrelled my T1x, even without the hindsight of the headaches I've encountered.

The 700 footprint 22’s are not too difficult to find here in NA, but besides the generic Bergara, they are all about the same $$$.

It says it has a crossover barrel which is what they called the barrel on the regular T1X so the weight is probably all in the stock. Fixes one of the two major things I wanted different on my T1X. Now for a bull barrel.

I’m not a huge prs type chasis guy, but I do like the Tac a1 and the trga1 chasis. But that thing is ugly as hell and isn’t half the point of the chasis game to get a folding stock? Would also depend on price of these things if they take off or not I would guess

There's been a trend away from 16 and 20 in barrels over the last couple years. I think theres a couple reasons for this. One is balance, two is its believed longer barrels are less ammo picky. Its not terribly cheap to re-barrel rimfires, so you only see this probabl if/when guys building new rifles.

There is definitely a bit of a trend towards longer barrels. I think many people will stay a little shorter as guys want to use suppressors more frequently than with centrefire.

I'm guessing most people are doing it for balance reasons, now that 22 PRS is basically the same as centrefire PRS (barricade bench rest) there's zero reason to not go as long and heavy as possible for the same balance reasons.

There's quite a few 18" barrels there too but I bet almost all of them were on Begara B14Rs.

What's funny is the t1x balances alot better than the 20in ctr despirte the lower overal and barrel weight.

However, the second you put the t1x into a chassis w/ 4inch magwell, its going to balance like dogshit. This is why that new "competition chassis" (or whatever it is) is such a bad idea, since its built for a CTR mag not a T1x mag.

I don't want to sidetrack this thread by getting on a rant, but this kind of thing is what keeps the sport from developing. New shooters need help getting rifle's to balance properly.

The industry and the other leaders in the sport really need to study this problem.

Here's my rebarrelled T1x.
25.5" Medium Palma, in a KRG Bravo (no rear weights) there's about 2.5kg of steel in the forend, between a custom full length t slot weight, 14" steel arca rail and the additional weights on the rail.

With just the slot weight it balances pretty well, just in front of the magwell, but to get the balance point 4" further forward need the additional 1.6kg of arca rail and weights.

I imagine if it were a heavier profile barrel or 28" long I'd be able to have it lighter overall but I don't know there'd be much in it.

I have been playing with a lighterweight scope (XTR3 3.3-18) and that definitely balances easier, don't really need the additional weights on the ARCA rail.

Personal thoughts based on the video-
The chassis seems extremely well thought out with nearly every option you can desire in an aftermarket version and then some.
Having an adjustable anything that returns to a preset is an awesome step forward.
Integral Arca-Swiss rail, one less thing to buy and worry about coming loose.
Fully adjustable grip, when so few options are out there anyway
Only thing I can think of to change would be a longer forend and heavier profile 22-24” barrel.
I don’t give a flip about folding stocks, you go to a chassis for more flexibility in adjustment while having a stock that is the ultimate in rigidity.
Offer 15 round billet magazines and a true match trigger option for the win.

One additional observation I never see discussed.
While many of the custom builds out there offer faster than 16 inch twist barrels, Tikka and Sako went with 16.5 twist.

My Tikka has gone down the road. It was a 20” IBI 12T Calfee IV chamber in an ACC Premier folder. Razor G3, 1 piece MDT mount, 50MOA rail. My Duece is 24” 1.06” 14T Prevail chamber barrel in a blue ACC Elite. ARC 30 MOA mount on a 20 MOA rail. Trigger tech Diamond 2 stage. I don’t think I have any pictures.

Took the T1x out to the range today for the first time in over a year. I was planning on stretching its legs a bit, but It was super windy so I just shot a couple groups at 50yds to check zero and make sure it is still awesome. Group likely would have been a touch tighter on a calm day. Lapua Ceter X

Yes, T1x is super accurate. In an indoor range, I get 0.25 MOA - 0.3 MOA 10 round groups on 50 yards using Center-X ammo with Tikka T1x. I get sub-MOA 10 round groups on 100 yards with Center-X or Eley Benchrest Precision. I was thinking of going with Rim-X setup, but I don't know that I'll get much better accuracy and Rim-X setup costs a lot more

It was a bit windy. 250yds was hit conisitantly with a -38.75 MOA dialed on scope. 350yds was much more difficult. Wind seemed to have much more of an effect. Ran out out of scope adjustment at ~47 moa and need about a another 17 moa hold to get to aroujd -64 MOA. Yes, I know, make the move to mil. Ordered a MDT 40MOA scope base. Will re-zero and try again.

I've been quite happy with my T1x 22. Shot great out of the box and is just getting better. It could very well surpass my best CZ, we'll see. That's a pretty tall order but it is shooting better at this stage of it's life than any of my CZ's have at the same point.
Disappointment? Certainly not.

I love my T1x. My only "complaint" is how stiff the bolt is when cocking. Other than that, the action is VERY smooth. Has anyone found a way to make the cocking a little less effortfull? Looking at the mechanics it seems like you could possible polish/file where the cocking piece interacts with the bolt handle sleeve.

How old is the rifle? Mine is very slick, but has had a lot of rounds through it.

Grease the camming surfaces, and use is the usual fix.
A longer bolt handle (I love Sterk Swept) helps a lot as you get more leverage, or even just the Tikka rubber ball helps a bunch.

Maybe just cleaning and adding fresh will do it for you, not sure it'll make much difference which lube you choose. Mine was pretty smooth new and after the first couple thousand rounds it got better.

I would never use 33MS on anything unless you want to smell like it for a week!

I just use tetra gun grease, but anything other than 33MS would be fine.

You could also disassemble the bolt and clean/lube where the bolt handle attachment rides over the bolt body.

I have a brand new T1x here that I guess does have a slightly heavy bolt lift, definitely worse than my worn it Tikka with Sterk handle.

The ES of the ammo suggests a 7" tall group at 211m so 8-9" isn't bad with that in mind.

I've spent a lot of time recently testing different ammo/batches at distance and basically decided long range results are 100% ammo ES based.
Have seen it enough times now, groups much taller than they are wide, and more or less the exact height the ES calculates in Strelok.

Hoping to get hold of some R50 soon and will see how that goes.
Will zero and shoot groups at 30m and if the ES is good go straight out to 200m+.

I must say the Garmin Xero has been a God send for 22lr.

It's nice not being driven crazy buy unexpected results, seeing high/low fliers on target and knowing it was the ammo not me takes away a lot of frustration.

Although chronying everything has made me realize just how bad some ammo is and just how much variability there can be between batches.

Having issues with my t1x. Some rounds load into chamber but don't fire. I'll eject, reload and it fires ( same bullet).
Anyone have this issue and know how to fix.

I was using SK then. When I moved to an aftermarket 12T barrel and Eley Match my groups became round.
