How is it going for Toyota trying to copy Ford and run a twin turbo V6?Just get rid of that piece of shit
I have close on 800K miles on 4 Toyotas and the most I have done on them is 2 starter motors

Well, I had my 3rd engine swap at less than 40,000 miles on my new tundra so I am not inclined to take your advice..my raptor was supposed to be my fun truck but the massive unreliability of the Toyota forced it to be my daily
See Ford 6.0 Liter DIEsel Motor....Three engines in 40k from any manufacturer would make me look at everything/everyone connected to the engine.
See Ford 6.0 Liter DIEsel Motor....
EPA ruined that one, had good luck with mine but had to baby it. Nothing like an old 7.3See Ford 6.0 Liter DIEsel Motor....
Pretty sure the Toy hybrid problem is related to piss poor machining. Mitsubishi had a similar problem in the mid-90's; the 1st gen eclipse/talon had the infamous 4g63, but for some reason engineering decided to try and free up some rotational resistance to gain free HP. As a result, the crank bearing journals were machined a smidgen too loose, and "crank walk" became the end result. This is a well known catastrophe.Three engines in 40k from any manufacturer would make me look at everything/everyone connected to the engine.
No matter who makes it, a turbocharged gas engine will never outlive a naturally aspirated one that makes the same hp.How is it going for Toyota trying to copy Ford and run a twin turbo V6?![]()
That is a huge ass!
I drive a 2004 Tundra with the 4.7L V8, probably one of the best engines ever made for longevity. 225,000 miles so far. The frame is still good too.Well, I had my 3rd engine swap at less than 40,000 miles on my new tundra so I am not inclined to take your advice..my raptor was supposed to be my fun truck but the massive unreliability of the Toyota forced it to be my daily
The old 6.ohno. I had 3 in my small fleet, the fact that anyone went beck to Ford diesels after that debacle blows my mind.See Ford 6.0 Liter DIEsel Motor....
Especially since the 6.4 came next. The old 6.ohno. I had 3 in my small fleet, the fact that anyone went beck to Ford diesels after that debacle blows my mind.
At least he got the half with the steering wheel.
