I understood the AT LE could be bought with a DD214 but the other LE models required LE agency letterhead.
This was discussed a ways back by @Mile High Shooting.

It is a contract. We honor contracts.@Mile High Shooting and AI being gay AF. Putting the AX stock with the AT and the 16" barrel is super dangerous in the hands of a civilian. Even the new ATXC with a shorter rail and color matched action is too dangerous. Only for those who are donut snipers and the people who can protect us from the invasion can have those things..... But yet, we can go out and buy a ASR chambered in 338LM. lol
From what I was told it came from AINA so I do not have details on it.Can we order the Border Patrol Rifle?

Thanks much. Wasn’t sure of the manufacturer.what are you trying to id? It's a British proof marked 308 most likely a lothar walther1/12 308
It's been ages since I have loaded 308 for any of my guns. But I have tons of new Lapua brass and 155 scenars, 175SMKs, and 175 bergers. Does anyone have any good load data for 20" AiAx or At in 308?
Thanks
50 grs of whatever sounds pretty hot. I got a bunch of Varg and 4350 so ok..."50 grs of whatever send it" snipers hide starting load crew

So pack it to the brim and mash the bullet right to the lands and bobs your uncle, got it!You can probably do 50gr of H4350 and not get pressures with the 175s. But most likely it will fill to the neck and compress the load before hitting 50 grains. It's not the right powder for that cartridge/bulllet combo. I just put my 308 barrel back on and another hide member was just telling me, anything from 42-45 varget should work the the 170gr class of bullets. It's very forgiving and shoots very well going slow. But this is the Hide, load up 44-45gr and let it eat.
Sounds a little high to start with.So pack it to the brim and mash the bullet right to the lands and bobs your uncle, got it!
Ok, seriously though, Ill start off with 43-44 and work up..
The "BNP" is Birmingham Nitro Proof mark (UK not AL)Thanks much. Wasn’t sure of the manufacturer.
I will start with 42 as recommended by you and a friend, and then do some loads in the upper spectrum, so low and high ish..Sounds a little high to start with.
I recent looked at every thread I could find for loads in the 168gr range, IMR 4064 and Varget seems to shoot well for many people around 42gr.
I'd start be looking 41-45(maybe 46).
These are all the loads I found people using.

—Pic for failing to post in awhile tax—
She’s running open class this month… like a fancy girl.
I did a bunch of 175 Berger OTMs at 42 and 44, .05 off the lands. Gonna go take it out tomorrow and see how it goes.My bet is that somewhere between 41.5 - 43.5gr of Varget, IMR-4064, or Reloader 15 will shoot to the best of your barrels potential with 168-178gr bullets.
It is a great cartridge to load for.
Yes the high rail for the NV mountI'm picking up a 15 model PB AT this weekend and I'm wanting to add the NV bridge, but I'm wanting to make sure I can run the bridge with a 16.5" barrel and suppressor. Also, from my reading I'm seeing I need the high rail in order to line up with the nv rail, is that correct? The one I'm buying has the low rail installed. Obligatory pic of my hopefully new to me AT.
Yes you will need the high rail. I don't have a bridge but here is a 16.5 with suppressor. Measured my 20” barrel on my other AT to make sure I put the tape in the correct spot. The tape shows about 13.5” to end of the bridge which is about the same spot the spigot endsYes the high rail for the NV mount
I’ll throw a tape on mine quick for you and edit this on the barrel length

Good choice. 140eldm going just over 2500fps in my 16.5". Here is the data.Thank you both. I didn't think it would be an issue looking at pics, but just wanted to make sure. Gonna chop the 6.5 creed barrel to 16.5" and thread 9/16x24 for an old TacOps can I have sitting around.
Ok, little report for the load dev for the Ai 20" barrel.Sounds a little high to start with.

Ok, little report for the load dev for the Ai 20" barrel.
Loading off the lands 0.05 with some twice shot and annealed Lapua brass, 175 Berger OTMs and 44gr of varget seems to do the magic. Getting 2650fps at 77deg, and a Stand Dev of 14.5, the accuracy is very nice.
I tried a 42gr load, it was not nearly as promising. The 44gr of varget does the job.

Man after my own heart. You going to develop further or just leave it as is?Ok, little report for the load dev for the Ai 20" barrel.

I always like the idea of doing .2 fine increments, that way if I can be bothered fine tuning more I can split the difference between them.Im gonna go north of 44 just 0.3 so 44.3 and 44.6, and see how those loads go at long distance. At 44 there were no pressure signs, probably because I backed off the lands. I have had killer 260 and 6.5 loads that are magic at 100y and then go to shit at 1000. But after this I just want to shoot and not noodle anymore.
Some day if I get bored I will got down the 155 Scenar rabbit hole.
Very nice shooting!I’ve been running 44.1gr of Varget in LCLR cases with 210M primers with a COAL of 2.840 for 175SMK in my 24” 10 twist Bartlien factory AI barrel.
They run about 2750FPS or so @ 325’ ASL and are about 10 MRAD to 1K. (Right)

On the left is the 200gr 20X load I run in my 308 transgender AI. Runs about 2610FPS or 9.5 MRAD to 1K. COAL is 3.12. Lapua Palma/N150/205. Chamber has .170 free bore.

Bugholes is spinning me up a Brux 10 twist 30in heavy palma AT barrel with the same chamber for the 200 20X.
I figure they’ll be okay to load thru the port, but I’ll be fucked and probably have to fold the butt and pull the bolt if I ever have to eject a loaded round.
