A new vet had me put a muzzle on a pitbull/mix I had when we went to get cancer tests. I understood but it was totally unnecessary with him. When his vet techs tried to take samples from the tumor on his back, instead off pushing it in and out while maintaining negative pressure in the syringe. They just jabbed it into his tumor and wiggled it around.

, you could barley touch his tumor without him wincing.
I had his muzzle off when the vet came back to do it himself correctly and get a useable sample. I gave my dog a queit look at me whistle. He looked, I held the muzzle out and he stuck his face in it. The vet laughed and said, he probably doesn't need that, does he. I said, it couldn't hurt. It doesn't hurt him and now he can't hurt us. Win win.
They had nice leather muzzles in multiple sizes that were really easy to put on.
